National Archery in the Schools Program
The National Archery in the Schools Program in Massachusetts is an archery program developed for educators to provide students in grades 4-12 with exposure to a fun, alternative sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.
This program is a partnership between the Department of Fish and Wildlife (DFW), National Archery in the Schools, the Archery Trade Association, and local sporting groups.
MRHS Physical Education teachers received training provided by the DFW to become certified as a Basic Archery Instructor (BAI).
Our school was able to borrow archery kits for a month free of charge and we look forward to doing so again in April for PE students in the second semester of school.
A huge thanks to Mr. Schwartzman and Ms. Cunningham for taking advantage of this opportunity and for providing an excellent learning experience for our students!

Key Club writes Thanksgiving cards for nursing home residents
The week before Thanksgiving, the MRHS Key Club asked members to make Thanksgiving cards for nursing home residents at Liberty Commons in Chatham. About 40 cards were collected, so thank you to all the members who helped with making the festive cards! They were dropped off at Liberty Commons on Wednesday, November 24th by three Key Club officers: Christie Beckley (President), Samantha Goode (Vice President), and Sarah Poskanzer (Secretary). We hope that these cards brought some holiday cheer to the nursing home residents.
The Key Club’s winter clothing drive also ended the week before Thanksgiving and it was very successful. Thank you to anyone who donated! The Key Club is planning a few upcoming volunteer opportunities such as helping with Homeless for the Holidays, and helping with a Movie Night for elementary school students. If you are interested in joining Key Club, please contact Ms. Howe at bhowe@monomoy.edu! Thank you, and we hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!
