Take the Superintendent Search Survey
The Board of Education has started the process of hiring a new superintendent to replace Dr. Kaczkowski who is retiring at the end of this school year. The Board has hired an executive search firm to assist them with this important task and process. The Board would like your input as they begin the search for a new Superintendent to lead our district. We will use the information we gather from focus groups and this questionnaire to help create a leadership profile for our next leader.
Please respond by Monday, October 2nd. All responses are anonymous and confidential.

Stop Motion at Lincoln
4th graders at Lincoln School are working on making Stop Motion videos using LEGOS and items brought from home. They are using the app Stop Motion Studio on the iPads. These videos run at approximately 5 frames per second, so a 30 second video requires 150 photos! Students spent one makerspace session learning the app and practicing the movements of their LEGO characters. During the second makerspace session, they will be recording a final story.
Hadley Hauntcert Halloween Concert
The Hadley Music Department will hold their second Annual Hauntcert Halloween Concert, featuring the Hadley 8th Grade Band and 7th & 8th Grade Orchestra. The concert will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 7:00 pm in the Hadley Auditorium, with trick-or-treating prior to the performance at 6:30 pm in Gym B. Costumes and spooky fun are encouraged.
All D41 children and families are invited!
REMEMBERING MR. JOHN FITCHUK, FORMER D41 ORCHESTRA DIRECTOR & GUEST CLINICIAN
John Fitchuk, age 76, a resident of Windsor Park, Carol Stream, Illinois passed away on September 22, 2023. He was a former District 41 elementary orchestra director for several years after retiring from Wheaton Warrenville North and South High Schools. Mr. Fitchuk also instructed at the collegiate level at Wheaton College, Illinois Benedictine and Oberlin Music Conservatory. Throughout the many years, Mr. Fitchuk worked with the Hadley Orchestra in preparations for concerts, contests and festivals. He truly loved working with the students and always had a creative story to tell the students that made his life learning experiences meaningful while connecting it to music. The last performance was very special as he was the guest conductor for the 8th grade orchestra’s world premier piece, "A Walk Through a Birch Forest.” He partnered together with his son, Ian Fitchuk, Grammy Award Winning Artists/Composer and worked alongside with Ms. Georgia Alemis, Hadley Orchestra Director. May John's memory be eternal. He will be dearly missed.
