FINANCIAL AID/FAMILY GRANTS PROGRAM
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FINANCIAL AID/FAMILY GRANTS PROGRAM
Friday, April 14, 2023, is the deadline for submitting all information to TADS, this is the third-party company that evaluates family's financial data to assist with making awards. This is consistent with the process we used to award tuition assistance for this current year.
Late applications will NOT be considered. Students must live in Marin, San Francisco, or San Mateo Counties to be considered for the Archdiocesan Scholarship. Please visit the other scholarship programs section for more opportunities. Grant notifications will be sent out to the elementary student’s families in late May/early June.

CHILDREN'S BOOK DRIVE
We will be collecting books for the Children’s Book Project. This organization gives the books to children at homeless shelters, childcare centers, schools, and other children’s facilities.
DATES: April 14 – May 1
Please follow the criteria listed below when donating your gently used books.
We always need high interest, new or gently used, recent books for children of all ages, from infants through teens.
In greatest demand are books in good condition that make children feel valued, especially:
- books featuring diverse characters (all ages)
- board books
- early readers
- elementary chapter books
- books in Spanish or Chinese (all ages)
- graphic novels
- popular series for 8-12 years old
Due to limited demand and storage space at our book site, we don’t accept:
- dirty, dusty, wet, chewed, ripped, bent, folded, written in, moldering, or mildewed books
- nonfiction over ten years old
- obsolete or vintage books
- library discards
- textbooks and curriculum materials
- encyclopedias
- audio cassettes and VHS tapes
- religious books
Thank you for your participation.

DEVELOPMENT
We look forward to updating you on what on our summer wish list is feasible with these funds.
What is Annual Giving?
Annual Giving pays for the items not covered by tuition. Currently, tuition covers 89% of the cost of educating your students. Annual Giving covers technology, field trips, health and safety, art supplies, updated phone system, and drama.
Who benefits from Annual Giving?
Everyone! Each child and faculty / staff benefit from these funds. Without these funds, the school would have to implement higher tuition increases. These funds allow us to provide extras that some schools can’t offer or have a fee system applied per student to utilize.
How much should I give?
We want people to give at a level that is comfortable to their family. Your participation at any level shows your commitment to SVDP. For the 2021-2022 school year, the average donation was $1,300.
Can I pay over time?
Yes! Via your FACTS account, you can set up monthly contributions to Annual Giving.
Can I pledge now and pay later?
Yes! You can complete the participation form offering a pledge and set a future date that it will be paid.
What if all the money is not spent in the current school year?
The funds raised through Annual Giving remain in a separate account and are not used for general administrative or overhead expenses.
Why is 100% participation important?
In addition to the importance of showing support for our school, foundations look at participation rate as one of the factors when applying for grants. This will become more important as we attempt to secure grants for our remodel project.
