(NEW) Apple and SMART Watches at WES!
Apple and SMART Watches can be used in the same way a cell phone is used: Students can search the internet, send and receive text messages, and even make phone calls.
Apple and SMART Watches are treated the same as cell phones per our Elementary Handbook policy: "Cell phones and/or other electronic devises may not be used in any manner that will cause disruption to the educational environment."
Our daily goal is to be able to provide our WES Students with the absolute best education possible, and we do so by helping ensure that cell phones and SMART watches are placed in backpacks to help avoid any unnecessary distractions.
We appreciate you partnering with us to ensure the best educational environment for our students!

(REMINDER) ATTENDANCE AT WES!
Over half of the school year is in the books, which means we are sledding down the hill quickly toward the end of the year.
As a reminder, attendance at school is CRITICAL to a child's academic and social success: Missing even two days a month can accumulate quickly to 20 days out of school.
If your child(ren) must miss school, please communicate those absences to Mrs. Harasewicz, and also your child's classroom teacher.
Why is it Important to be Creative?

Construction at WES!
You may have heard that WES is going to have some construction happening this year, and that is indeed correct!
WES is looking to improve various areas of our building, starting with new heating and cooling systems in our classrooms! Construction will not happen before the first day of school, but will happen throughout the upcoming school year.
But don't worry! Classrooms will be moved around so that there will be no students or staff in classrooms where work is being done.
JGSC is finalizing the construction bidding process, and once that happens, I will be able to provide more details on (1) when construction will start and (2) what rooms will be affected during certain times.
More details coming soon!

Dr. Fuller's Thoughts!
This week I want to state the obvious.
Something so easy to see, but yet should never go unnoticed....
...we have the best staff at Walkerton Elementary School!
I mean...THE BEST staff.
Every single adult in this building is all-in on making our kids better.
There are constant conversations being had about how we can continue to grow our students every single day.
Oh, and when I say every adult in this building, I mean EVERY adult.
Our teachers, aides, paraprofessionals, custodians, kitchen staff, before and after care, technology team, office staff...you name a position, and I will be able to tell you how hard they word for our kids.
If you reading this, I have a challenge for you: If there is someone at Walkerton Elementary that has positively influenced your child or maybe positively influenced YOU, please reach out to them this weekend or next week with a nice email or phone call just to let them know how much you appreciate all of their hard work and dedication.
Sometimes a simple positive email means the world...
Happy Weekend, WES!
