Wilmette Village Meeting - Bike and Pedestrian Path from West Park to Skokie Blvd
At the Wilmette Village Hall at 7 p.m. tonight, the Village's Transportation Commission will hear a report on "Lake Avenue Corridor Bike and Pedestrian Improvements," including proposals for a dedicated bike lane (not in the street) from West Park to Skokie Blvd.
This is not an approved proposal, but the commission will discuss it and hear any feedback from people in attendance.
You can see the proposal by clicking on this link (the go to page 29 in the packet).
All in for Avoca37 Report Goes to Board of Education
Tonight the Board will hold a meeting to receive the report from the Facilitating Team charged with seeking community engagement and feedback regarding the future of facilities and finances for the District.
The reports are the result of the incredible hard work of a team of parents, guardians, staff members, and community members and the input of more than 100 people who attended open houses and more than 600 people who responded to a thorough survey.
The Board will receive the report, thank the Facilitating Team, discuss the results, and begin deliberations on what to do next. No decisions will be made at the meeting tonight, which will be streamed live on YouTube.

The Giving Tree Project from Roots & Shoots
Two of our anchor values in our Portrait of a Graduate are:
Socially Grounded - Developing healthy relationships with self and others, rooted in respect, empathy, integrity, and justice
Civically Engaged - Inviting constructive and respectful civic participation, while contributing to their community and the world.
Our student club at Marie Murphy, Roots and Shoots, has for years now spearheaded The Giving Tree project. Our Business Office is able to confidentially and anonymously identify families in our community who are struggling economically. The Giving Tree makes it possible for these families to experience gift giving and receiving at the holidays while providing for some key needs.
Roots and Shoots facilitates this, receives gifts, wraps them, then the Business Office is able to deliver them so families have their privacy maintained.
If you are interest in sponsoring a family this year, email rachmielj@avoca37.org
