Updates To TITAN Meal Menus/Payments
UCSD Families & Staff,
The platform we use to share breakfast/lunch menus and to receive meal payments, TITAN Family Portal, will be updating its name, website, app, and branding to LINQ Connect. This change will take place on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. We apologize for the late notice as we also just learned of this change.
If you are a current TITAN user, you will not need to change your username or password as all of your existing settings and information will be on the new site as soon as you login. To access menus and make meal payments, you will need to visit LINQConnect.com and/or download the new app in your app store beginning May 23. (Note: The LINQ Connect app will be available in the Google Play Store on May 23; however, it will not be available yet in the Apple App Store. For Apple users, please use the LINQConnect.com website until the app becomes available in the Apple App Store.)

UHS Jazz Band Visits 4th Grade!
All 5th graders have the opportunity to join band. Mrs. Wells and Mrs. Schultz will be the band instructors and will be sharing information in the fall with students and families.
Valerius Field Day
Field Day will take place at Valerius on Wednesday, May 24th. The event will run a bit differently this year with having a morning session and an afternoon session. This will help increase student participation. The morning session will run from 10:00-11:30am for Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade. The afternoon session will run from 1:30-3:00pm for 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade. A cool treat for everyone will take place from 3:00-3:30pm. Students should bring a water bottle and extra pair of clothing in case they get wet in the water events.
*There won't be a need for volunteers this year. Families are still welcome to watch their student participate.

Show Choir Experience (Grades 4-6)
It’s time to get signed up for the Urbandale Show Choir Experience!
The Urbandale Show Choir Experience is a summer camp dedicated to getting kids excited about singing and performing. It is a fantastic introduction to this crazy world of show choir, learning an entire show choir show in four days and presenting it to a live audience. We are working to make this one the biggest camp yet, and hope your budding performer can join us for the week!
All singers who are incoming 4th-9th graders are welcome, not just Urbandale students. So, along with signing up your own singer, be sure to call family and friends from anywhere to let them know they can be a part of the experience as well!

UCSD Summer Meal Program
Combined Valerius & KA PTO Meeting
A combined Valerius/Karen Acres PTO meeting is scheduled for May 25th to elect board members for the 23/24 school year. Anyone interested, is invited to join us for this brief meeting at 7 pm in the Valerius (at Jensen) library.
The PTO is responsible for fundraising and planning many events throughout the school year that directly benefit our kids and teachers! Urbandale Community School District is hosting a garage sale event at Rolling Green Elementary. On July 14, 2023, the sale will be open exclusively to educators within UCSD and the community from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Please contact Brandi Crawford at (515) 457-5010 or crawfordb@urbandaleschools.com to schedule a time to visit the pre-sale (open for educators by appointment only). Dear Families of future 6th graders:
Ordering is now available for school supply kits through "SchoolKidz" for NEXT year (2023-24). These kits are an optional and convenient way to purchase your student's school supplies. Please visit www.shopttkits.com and enter our school's code "84484". Place your order by June 9, 2023 and your child's school supplies will be delivered to your home by August 11th. The kits contain all items identified on the UMS school supply list for next year, except for the following:
1) drawing pencils for 6th grade Art
2) guitar picks for 7th grade Music
3) PE attire

Families with students in kindergarten through 11th grade currently enrolled in the district will receive an email between May 1 – May 14, 2023, with instructions for online registration.
23-24 Bus Form
To be on a bus route for the first day of school, UCSD needs to receive your completed bus request form no later than August 1st.
