Orange Shirt Day
Staff Spotlight - Barry Landry
Where are you from? Louisiana
Favorite thing about your job? Learning about people and their stories and gaining a better understanding of myself through that process.
Anything you'd like to share about your family? Two young children (ages 3 and 5) who humble me, provoke kindness, and make me grateful to be a father on this spinning rock of a world.
Do you have any hobbies? Reading, writing, Lil Pony coloring pages, Spiderman action figures, and anything outdoors.
If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? Besides teaching at PAHS, probably directing a film set on-location with my kids sitting in the director's chair--preferably New Orleans or maybe Barcelona.
What is your goal for this year? Live by the words of one of my heroes, Kobe Bryant: "The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do."
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Teaching my son how to throw a curve ball, and my daughter how to write poetry--or vice versa.
One fun fact that most people don’t know about you: I'm 100% Cajun--my relatives and ancestors speak (spoke) Cajun French.
Anything else you'd like to share with your co-workers? Thank you for offering me a place in the PAHS family. Ca, c'est bon.
