Weekly Update
Holy Trinity Catholic School April 14th, 2022
PRAYER
God of Love,
My prayer is simple: Your son, Jesus, suffered and died for me.
I know only that I cannot have real strength unless I rely on you.
I cannot feel protected from my many weaknesses until I turn to you for forgiveness and your unalterable love.
Help me to share this strength, protection, and love with others.
How do I "celebrate" the passion and death of Jesus?
I often want to look the other way and not watch, not stay with Jesus in his suffering.
You gather me in this upper room with Your Son, to be fed by Your love.
At that supper, Jesus told us to "love one another" and I know that is the heart of his gift, his sacrifice for me.
I ask that I might find the source of my own heart, the meaning for my own life, in that Eucharist.
Guide me to the fullness of your love and life.
Amen
A Note from Mrs. Longden
This school year has been flying by. Speaking of flying by, it is hard to believe we are near the end of Holy Week. Holy Trinity has been journeying as a school family and we are in the final stages of our Lenten promises.
Just as the Resurrection brings us a path to follow in hope, the days of spring also lead us to a path of warmth and sunshine. The chugging along that took place in the winter months and the stillness of Lent seems to be changing to leaps of joy as we move forward to the Easter season.
May our hearts be filled with the Resurrection celebration and the hope of all that is to come in our families, our school, our community, and in our world.
Have a safe and blessed Easter!
Blessings,
Mrs. Longden

SOCIAL FEST- CLASS PROJECTS
Class Projects:
Class projects this year will be a basket provided by each class.
We are looking for one parent from each class to help with the organizing and execution of this auction item. You would be in charge of coming up with the idea and asking other class parents for items or support for the basket.
Each class basket will have a unique theme. The plan is for the entire class to help solicit the items needed for the basket. Please see how you can help.
We are hoping these themed baskets will be a BIG HIT in our Auction...these baskets can range from a night on the town for Mom and Dad, to a family trip to Virginia Beach, and a Family Game Night basket for everyone to enjoy, plus much, much more! We are asking that all parents participate in some way to support your class basket. Parents can solicit donations for the basket, purchase gift cards or vouchers for the basket, or donate money that will go toward the purchase of items needed in the basket. Questions? Have an idea for a donation for your class basket?
If you are interested in helping with your child's class, please reach out to Mrs. Longden for more information.
Olympian Jordan Stolz
There will be a question and answer session along with an opportunity for pictures and autographs.
If you are interested in attending, please contact the school office for more information.
Screen Free Week
In Partnership with Advocate Aurora Healthcare, Froedtert Healthcare, Village of Port Washington, City of West Bend, and the Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department, we are planning some family friendly activities for our third annual Screen Free Week! Screen Free week is held every year in May, sponsored by Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, as an educational way to get people up and moving and off of their screens. Studies are showing direct links between time spent on a screen and mental health concerns. The effects are showing in both adults and children. We are joining in again this year and educating about limits on daily screen time, and promoting screen free activities to help increase awareness and improve mental health in our communities.
During Screen-Free Week, millions of children and adults pledge to spend seven days screen-free. Instead of watching TV or playing video games, they tend to read, play, think, create, get physically active, and spend more time with friends and family. Studies show that children who watch less TV are more likely to read well and to be physically fit. Turning off screens also allows for more family time. Each week, American children spend more time in front of a screen than they do in school! Screen-Free Week is a great way to jump-start our kids into more reading, learning, and active play. It’s also a lot of fun!
We have a full line-up of fun, screen-free activities planned for both Washington and Ozaukee Counties, and we’d like help spreading the word! Please see the attached flyers with our schedules of events, and take a look at our Facebook page, Screen Free Week Washington Ozaukee, WI. If you’d like more information on Screen Free Week, please visit screenfree.org.
