Farewell (ish)
Hello Skyline Families!
It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing I will be leaving my position at Skyline. While I am excited about the new opportunities ahead, it is difficult to say goodbye to the wonderful families and students.
During my time here, I have had the privilege of getting to know your children and working alongside dedicated educators. I am grateful for the support and encouragement you have all provided me throughout my time at Skyline.
I’m moving on as Attendance Support at George Middle School, but I will still be around at the Skyline events, just as a Skyline parent!

Lunch Menu For August/September
No Breakfast on October 4:
We start school at 10:45am on October 4th and there will be no breakfast available. Please plan ahead on this and other late start dates.
Families must reapply for free/reduced price meal benefits for the new school year. Eligibility from last year will carry over only until Oct 10th; if a new application is not received, the free/reduced benefits will end and students would need to pay for their meals. Did you know? In Oregon, a family of 4 may be eligible if they make $90,000 gross per year or less? Please encourage your families to apply for meal benefits this school year.
From the Health Room
Vaccine Clinic: See you from 11am - 6pm on September 20th
Recommended Beverages in a K-8
No more Prime Drinks at Skyline
We are hearing more reports about the different varieties of Prime Drink and that they are not safe for young people. Please do not send your students to school with any type of Prime Drink.
We strongly prefer that students are only sent with their water bottles to school over all. We are seeing caffeinated and sugary drinks at such as Red Bull and Starbucks Coffee. Water is the only beverage allowed in classrooms, any other beverages will be only enjoyed in the cafeteria.
Thank you for your understanding and support!

Recorders for Music Class! Grades 3-8 only
Dear Skyline Parents and Guardians,
Students will begin learning the recorder in Music Class soon. Don’t worry - it won’t be as painful as you might think! The Third graders will begin learning as soon as I can order recorders and distribute them to students. Recorders are a great way to improve motor skills, learn to read music and rhythms, and to have fun playing music together.
The recorders I will be purchasing are from a company called Peripole-Bergerault in Salem. The cost will be $7.00 which includes shipping. The quickest and easiest way to purchase a recorder is through SchoolPay.
Here is the link for School Pay
Please make sure to include your child’s name when you make your online payment.
If you are unable to pay online you can pay with cash or checks made out to Skyline school. Please include the below order form if you pay with cash or check. Also, financial assistance is available, simply complete the Recorder Order form and indicate you would like the assistance.

Thank you!

ParentVue Yearly Registration
It's important that we are connected and you feel informed about school. The tools below are very important and used frequently.
ParentVue: First and foremost, we need to know that we can reach you. Many staff use this platform to communicate throughout the year. On Friday, August 11th, PPS Central Office sent out an email with ParentVUE Activation codes for all caretakers who have active students and who have not yet created their ParentVUE account. If you run into issues, please reach out to the front office.
Please complete the yearly student verification form to ensure we’re reaching you via the right contact information and in the right language.
