PTA 2024
We have had quite a calendar of programs in the last couple months. Thank you so much to all the volunteers. Your help and time is incredibly valuable! It’s amazing to see the students thrive and enjoy the PTA programs that you are involved in.
There’s more coming up in 2024. Most things remain similar to past years. A few changes are in the works. The Magic Run jogathon fundraiser yielded so much $ucce$$. We are evaluating the remaining fundraisers and want to try new ideas. Instead of an online silent auction, we will run a read-a-thon. And another fundraiser we envision is a parent-only social event.
The district hosts the Invention Convention in February and we would like to supplement it with a complementary and modified STEAM night. We are essentially merging those two events together.
Our mission is to improve the lives of Washington families. Send your feedback anytime to president@explorerspta.orgCultural Music Performance
The PTA is honored to host TAIKOPROJECT this Wednesday morning. Utilizing authentic instruments hand-crafted in Japan, the performers weave traditional and modern forms of taiko (drum) together and share elements of their Japanese and Japanese-American culture.
The assembly will be held outside after the morning announcements and exercises. For their comfort, we recommend students bring hats, sunglasses and hearing protection (headphones, earplugs), as needed.
Volunteer Chair Positions
We are looking for parent volunteers to chair the following programs. More info. Contact programs@explorerspta.org with any questions.

Invention Convention Chair - February
STEAM Night Chair - February (modified to merge with Invention Convention)

Screenagers: Under the Influence
A community partnership with several local groups is screening a film that delves into how the tech revolution has reshaped adolescence and its effects. This film is for adult viewing and recommended for students older than 7th grade. Seating is limited - more information and early RSVP highly encouraged.
Wed, Dec 6: Hermosa Valley Middle School - 6:00pm
