FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Miracles of Spring
Precious Lord, bless those around me and bless the beauty on our earth that this springtime season has brought our way. I ask that You continue to keep the weather steady, keep the trees growing strong, and bless all the lovely gardens so that Your fruits of the field may ripen, to nourish our bodies. Let us continually be thankful for the miracles of spring, the charm of nature, and the love You never fail to provide for us. In Your name, we pray. Amen.
Father's Day Breakfast and Assembly
On Friday 1st September, we had our annual Father's Day Breakfast which was followed by the Year 3 Assembly. It was so wonderful to see so many dads, grandads and other family members join us for this amazing event. Our Year 3s stole the show with their beautiful assembly and tribute to their dads and father figures. Congratulations to the P&F who provided an outstanding breakfast to nourish our families. The P&F would like to thank the Ienco family for their generosity in donating the fruit and bacon for the breakfast. Congratulations to everyone for making this event memorable for us all.
Athletics Carnival
Today we had our annual Athletics Carnival which was very well attended by our school community. A big congratulations to Mr Hignett for his tireless efforts in organising this event. Thank you to all the staff who assisted and to our parents who also helped and supported us during the day. We were very lucky and thankful for the perfect weather. Well done everyone!
SunSmart
On the 15 September, the P&F have organised a SunSmart Education Talk, that will be held at our Merit Assembly. SunSmart is focused on improving awareness, knowledge, attitudes and behaviour relating to encouraging everyone to protect themselves from the sun. SunSmart cares about protecting children and young people through education and supporting UV safe environments to ensure future SunSmart generations.
Mercy Week
In Week 10 of this term, we celebrate Mercy Week. We have a number of exciting activities that the students will be involved in. On Monday 18 September we will begin the week with a Liturgy for Mercy Week. This will be held at 2.30pm and we invite all the families to join us for this.
On Wednesday 20 September we have Sister Carmel Wringe who was the founding Principal of Padbury Catholic Primary school visiting. She will speak to the children about the Sisters of Mercy and the work that they do. In the afternoon, Buddy Classes will come together and complete organised activities relating to the Mercy Sisters.
On Friday 22 September there will be the Mercy Fete which will be run by the Year 6s and we will conclude the day with our Mercy Awards Assembly. It will be a wonderful way to finish the term off. We wish to thank all our families for their donations and support leading up to this week. Thank you to all the staff who have assisted with the organisation of Mercy Week.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

Late Pick Up
Just a quick reminder that the school day finishes at 3.00pm. Students who are picked up in the Kiss & Ride on O'Leary Road, are supervised until 3.20pm. Any child who has not been collected by then is taken to the front office. We do understand at times parents may be delayed and we ask that you contact the school as soon as possible to let us know. Your promptness in collecting your child on time would be much appreciated.
Chicken Coop
We are thrilled to welcome three charming Hyline hens to our school coop! Pre-Primary and Pre kindy raised the chicks from when they were a week old. We look forward to watching them scratch and peck their way into our hearts and provide us with fresh, delicious eggs. So, let's give a warm cluck-cluck welcome to our new feathered friends and make them feel right at home in their new coop.
Dental Screening
The Padbury Dental Therapy Centre will be attending the school to do their annual dental screening on Monday 11 September. They will be seeing Pre Primary, Year 3, and Year 6 children that are enrolled in the School Dental Service and if time permits they will also see Year 1 and Year 4.
Should you prefer for your child not to be screened or if you would like to withdraw your child from the service please contact the Padbury Dental Therapy Centre directly.

Edu Dance
Edu-Dance concerts will start at 2.20pm sharp in the hall. Please read the information below regarding parking.
- Tuesday 12 September for classes PPO, 1W, 2W, 3O, 4W, 5W, 6W
- Thursday 14 September for classes PPW, 1O, 2O, 3W, 4O, 5O, 6O
On the day of the concerts, the school oval will be open at 1.50pm for parking and 2 teachers will direct traffic on the oval. Please do not arrive earlier than this as children will be playing on the oval.
We ask that families do not use the staff carpark and to leave the parking straight outside Administration for elderly people and those with ACROD stickers. You can always drop your family members off and then proceed down to the oval to park your vehicle.
The doors to the hall will not open until just before the concert. From 1:50pm onwards, you are asked to assemble in a queue in the undercover area and after all the children are seated in the hall, one of the doors to the foyer will be opened and 20 people at a time will enter and be seated, under the guidance of the teachers.
Seats are not to be saved and young children need to be seated on a parent’s lap. Also, siblings attending school, who are not at the concert performing, are not to be taken out of class to attend.
We hope you enjoy our 2023 Edu-Dance Concerts!

ENROL YOUR CHILD NOW
Due to our excellent reputation in the wider community, we are currently experiencing high enrolments.
If you have a little one at home that has not yet commenced at PCPS, I urge you to submit an application immediately to the school.
Some of our families have missed out on a position as they forgot to submit their enrolment form.
Admin staff are not aware if you have younger ones at home so an enrolment form is essential.
Even if your child is only a few months old, please submit an application form now.
