Jaguar Jog
Hi Jackson Families!
We are one week out until our annual Jaguar Jog! Tuesday, October 3rd from 9-11am is the live event. This year we are working on teamwork and community to earn class and school prizes in donations, laps and sportsmanship. Don’t worry, each kiddo will also receive a swag bag of goodies for participating. Jog-a-thon is one of our biggest fundraisers for Jackson. This event helps provide field trips, clubs, special learning tools for classes just to name a few. Even though the name says jog, your child is welcome to walk, skip or move in a way that feels appropriate for them. Uberthons sets up a race type atmosphere where each kid gets a personalized bib, race start and finish line and of course music. While many enjoy the fun vibes of the music, it can be loud for many. If your child is sensitive to loud music, sending them with ear protection might make them more comfortable. To set up your child’s donation page here is the link and directions: Collect pledges via our 99Pledges donation page, https://app.99pledges.com/fund/jackson23 click “Add participant” near the bottom of the page to add your student. Please include their teacher under the Group section

Pick-up Request
If you are picking up your student in a vehicle, we are requesting that you put your student's name and teacher on a piece of paper. Please put on your dash, so the staff doing pick-up duty can read it. With that said, it will need to be large enough for us to see. We think this would help with speeding up the process. Thank you for working with us to make things more efficient.
SafeOregon. Feel Safe. Be Safe.
All kids should feel safe and be safe at school. SafeOregon gives kids, parents, schools, and their communities a way to confidentially or anonymously report safety threats or potential acts of violence. Together, we'll empower people to speak out and spark change. One tip can save a life.
Opportunity for Spanish Speaking Families
Youth Contact Inc. is providing a virtual workshop for parents. The workshop is facilitated by Family Therapist, Priscilla Lenorud. She is hoping to provide a space to listen and talk to families about the principles of Mental Health in Youth. This workshop will be held in Spanish Only. The workshops will be held via Zoom on Wednesdays @ 6:30 on September 20th and September 27th. Zoom link and joining details are included in the flyer below.
Optional Weekly Spirit Gear
The staff will be wearing gear on these days every week, unless there is a different school-wide spirit day scheduled. If your student would like to participate with the staff, they are more than welcome to!
Wednesdays - Jackson Elementary Gear
"Future" Fridays - High School or College Gear
Picture Day
Picture day this year will be October 18th and retakes will take place on December 5th. More information will be sent home with your student in the coming weeks.
Harlem Wizards!
On October 2nd, at 7pm, the Harlem Wizards will be playing at Century High School against HSD Staff. If you are interested in attending, please follow this link for more information.
