Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, known as Selena, was an American Tejano singer. Referred to as the "Queen of Tejano Music", her contributions to music and fashion made her one of the most celebrated Mexican-American entertainers of the late 20th century.

Opportunity to Support the TJMS Band

The TJMS Wind Ensemble is having their first performance on Saturday, October 21st, 2023 at the Indio High School Band Festival. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for children 12 and under and students with school ID. Credit/debit cards will be accepted for admission.

The event begins at 4:30, and our students will be taking the stage 6:50 pm.

eSports Come to TJMS

If you want to show off your gamer skills and get involved with the new TJMS Gaming Club and eSports team, stop by Room 104 and see Mr. Cardenas for more information!

ELAC Parent Volunteers Still Needed

We are still in need of parents to represent our school on the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). The ELAC is a committee for parents or other community members who want to advocate for English Learners.

If you are a guardian of a TJMS student willing to serve on this committee, please email Ms. Valentic at jennifer.valentic@desertsands.us.

Get Involved as a Parent Volunteer

Our new TJMS Parent Group is ready to get to work supporting the staff and students of TJMS. We would love for as many of you as possible to get involved when you can, how you can.

We have identified 5 volunteer opportunity events for the school year:

TJMS Fall Festival Volunteer (November 9th)

TJMS Clubs Garage Sale (December 2nd)

Staff Holiday Luncheon (Date TBD)

TJMS Spring Festival (March 21)

Teacher Appreciation Week Activities (Week of May 6)

Parents are not required to be on the planning committee in order to participate/support any of the events. Participation will require current DSUSD Volunteer clearance.
