I can assure you that I share in this school community’s commitment to caring for your children each and every day while providing them a world-class learning environment.

Activity Buses
Activity buses run Monday, Tuesday and Thursday starting Monday, August 21st. The intent in providing these Activity Buses is to enable more of our students to participate in school activities, clubs, sports or remedial help as appropriate. On these days, our Library Media Center will also be open in order to enable students to complete homework, engage in research or to provide a quiet place to study under teacher supervision until 4:10 pm, buses leave the parking lot at 4:15 pm. The routes will be posted on our website prior to August 28th for your to go over with your student. Routes are abbreviated and stop within a neighborhood.
We encourage you, as parents, to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity from which ultimately your children benefit.
Be Seen and Heard© Parent Information Meeting
In response to the state mandate of educating students about Erin’s Law, District 47 will again be hosting the Be Seen and Heard© program, a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse awareness program, for students in grades K-8. Parents/guardians are invited to attend a special informational meeting about the program on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. at Husmann Elementary School.

We need your help! Did you know that good attendance leads to higher success at school? Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. You can help to start building this habit in preschool so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Eventually good attendance will be a skill that will help them succeed in high school and college.
How can you help us?
Schedule any dental and doctor appointments after school, if possible.
Arrive on time. Instruction begins promptly at 7:40 am. Late arrivals can be a disruption.
As new clubs begin, they will be added to our Clubs & Activities page on our website. We encourage parents and students to also check our Daily Announcements, which are posted on our website each day, to see what clubs are starting up soon.
