Wear a Blue Shirt on October 2 to Support Anti-Bullying

We want Andover Central High School to be a safe place for everyone. If your child has had a one-time or repeated incident, please help us by letting us know. Even if you would just like us to log the information and not necessarily act on it, we appreciate knowing in order to monitor the situation. Also, if we have attempted to act on it, and you or your child believes it has not helped, please let us know. Many times unless someone tells us that it is continuing, we feel like it was resolved.

Wednesday, October 11th- Morning- Testing/ Afternoon- Career Fair

Students have signed up for their preferences, and we will email reminders to them as well as post them at school. Pre-ACT results should be available mid-November, and PSAT results will be ready in December. We will share the results with students. Juniors who are taking the practice ACT will grade those in their English classes for immediate feedback.

Exploring College Options

Duke, Harvard, Penn, Georgetown, and Stanford are hosting a student and parent informational session on October 2 at 7:00 PM at the Hyatt. All grade levels are welcome to attend. Click here to register: http://exploringcollegeoptions.org/#

SENIORS DO NOT HAVE SCHOOL ON OCTOBER 11- Great day to visit a college! Don't schedule WSU in the afternoon, though, because AHS and ACHS will be taking bus loads there!

Also, we don't have school on October 20, so that might be a great day for a visit, too!

ACT Prep Options

Need to get ready for the ACT? Carolyn Devane is hosting the ACT PowerPrep workshop on October 18 (same night as conferences). See our page on Counselors Corner: http://achs.usd385.org/73672_2

Can't make it to this one? She will also have a two-night workshop at AHS later this semester. We will let you know specific dates soon! Also, we have a whole list of on-line ACT, PSAT, and SAT test preps on our website.

College Visits to ACHS

College admissions representatives visit ACHS in the fall and spring during seminar. There are a few out of state colleges that only visit in the fall, so we highly recommend students attend these. Juniors and seniors can gather both general as well as ask specific information. Even if a student has already decided on a school, he or she can ask questions about housing, etc. It is a great time to connect with the admissions staff!.Oklahoma and Oklahoma State have committed; we just need to add them!

Event Information

Futures Fair

Students and parents are invited to attend the Futures Fair. We do not send students on a bus, but parents can excuse students to attend the day session on their own.

This fair provides a one-stop shop for postsecondary options after high school. Representatives from more than 100 local and national postsecondary institutions attend Futures Fair each year.
