Dear Gayman Families,

Thank you to the Gayman Home and School Association for hosting Friday's picnic. What a wonderful way to end the year!

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the generous gift that I received. I am touched by your thoughtfulness. Gayman Elementary School is a special community, filled with kindhearted people. It has been an honor serving as your principal these last six years. As we conclude this school year together, it is my intent to enjoy every moment, every celebration, and every party. I look forward to seeing soon at Gayman.

The Technology and Innovation Department is preparing to collect all devices from students in grade 6. Students in grades 3-5 will keep their device over the summer.

Return Information:

• Laptop collections will occur on Monday, June 12th.
• Please be sure your child is able to locate their device, charger, and pen (if applicable).
• Laptop bags do not need to be returned. Your child will be reusing this bag next year.
• If there are any technical issues with the device, please be sure to place a help desk ticket so we can resolve the issue prior to summer.

Missing Accessories: Please go to MyPayments Plus to pay for items that you lost or damaged while in your possession. Bring a receipt with you to collection as proof of payment.

Gayman will hold a Move Up Day on Wednesday, June 14th from 9:00-10:00AM.

Students will not be assigned a specific teacher by that date. Instead students will meet all grade level teachers and learn about the highlights of what the 2023-2024 school year will hold for them. Our goal in this activity is to build excitement about the coming year and reduce anxiety for the next school year, as we head into the summer.

The 3rd Trimester ends on Thursday, June 15th.

Report cards will be posted in the Parent Portal on Monday, June 19th at 1:00PM. Final report cards can be accessed electronically using this LINK.

The 2023-2024 Reading Olympics book list has been released!

Pennsylvania mandates the following health examinations:

• Physicals: School entry (Kindergarten), grades 6 and 11
• Dentals: School entry (Kindergarten), grades 3 and 7

Parents are urged to have physical and dental examinations completed by their family physician or dentist and submitted prior to October 15th of the year that they are due. Send health forms to Sara Hedges, our school nurse, at shedges@cbsd.org.

Congratulations Gayman Student Council for raising $859 from the pretzel sale! All proceeds will go towards our Gayman Go Green Fund.

Our 1st grade students are ending the school year with the "Alphabet Count Down"! Today's letter - "O'" - celebrated Outside with students reading articles about seeds and plants.

Nick Brewster shared information about salamanders, snakes, turtles, and owls to 65 amazed students. What a wonderful way to end the school year for this fantastic club!

Everyone who RSVP'd please join us Wednesday, June 7th at 2:30pm in the All Purpose Room. Light refreshments will be served. And your child will join you too!

NOTE: Requests for morning or afternoon kindergarten are determined on a first come - first serve basis. Priority is also given to a request with a documented need by the parents' employers.

Student absences due to family vacations or educational trips, may be entered through the Parent Portal. Parents are required to notify the school at least three days prior to the absence. As per School Board Policy, vacation absences are limited to five days per year.

After an absence is entered, please email your child's classroom teacher to inform them the dates of the absences. Thank you!
