A Message From Your Majesty
For our schools and communities to improve, there is ABSOLUTELY no way we can do this without the sincere and earnest engagement of our parents, partners and community at-large. How can our children know the way if we do not teach them? How will they reach their fullest potentials if we don’t believe in them and encourage them?
As we move to hybrid learning for our Pre K – 5th grade students, we must acknowledge that learning takes place not only in the classroom, but also at home, in the library, in the museums, in the stores, at the zoo, at church, and just in nature itself, everywhere! If Covid-19 taught us anything, it showed us how truly adaptable and capable our students are in the face of challenges. It is my hope that we are able to share our successes and challenges and become better together!
It truly takes a village!

HYBRID LEARNING
Welcome Back! How We Are Handling COVID-19
Welcome Back 4th-5th Grade
- Beginning February 8,2021 grades fourth through fifth will transition to a blended learning model, which means they will attend classes at school two days per week and at home three days per week. They will begin Blended Learning on February 8 and continue in this model in the weeks thereafter. Meet Our School Counselor
Hi, my name is Mrs. Wolfe and I am the School Counselor here at Windsor STEM! Last year was my first school year at Windsor STEM, but this is my 11th year in the district and 9th year as a School Counselor for CCS. My role as a School Counselor is to help students achieve academic success, develop an understanding of career opportunities, and develop social/ emotional skills in response to issues they face.
Just some of the things I do:
Classroom Presentations
Group Counseling (ex. grief, divorce, social skills, study skills, etc.)
Brief Solution-Focused Counseling
Parent Consultations
Community Resource Referrals
*Please note school counselors do not provide “therapy” or “traditional counseling." Referrals for outside counseling services are available for children experiencing grief, trauma, or mental health concerns.
If there is anything I can do to help, please feel free to reach out to me. You can reach me by email at cwolfe@columbus.k12.oh.us or call/text me at (614)600-2449 during school hours.
Happy Black History Month From Librarian Mrs. Jordan
Hello. I'm Mrs. Jordan, Windsor STEM Academy's Library Instructional Assistant. I've been at Windsor 11 years this year and I love being your children's librarian.
Remote life is a time when your children learn about library skills and social-emotional learning. We talk about our feelings in a time of uncertainty. A time when we cannot see one another in person (until now) but we can be up close and personal through a screen. And within these screens, there is a remarkable connection with each and every student and parent we see and talk to. It's a time for patience, kindness, and understanding...A place to listen to what one has to say to get things off one chest...To laugh and cry. To find peace, joy, and love within the walls of a square. Our key ingredient for success this school year? Our students signing in every day! And guess what? During our read-aloud time, siblings, cousins, aunties, uncles, grandma, and grandpa, the whole family can come to join in, too!! The more the merrier!!
Maya Angelou is my hero!
I fell in love with her writings when I read I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRDS SING.
Her work has opened my heart to love to read books. You will feel her truth, honesty, and
compassion when you read her books. This month I am excited to take each of you on a literary journey full of African-American historical figures.
School & Community Resources
Fuel Up CCS is now serving hot meals daily for students 18 years of age and younger
Beginning Wednesday, February 3rd the District will continue to provide grab-and-go option from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with more traditional menu items. Unfortunately, Windsor will no longer provide lunches for the community on site. Lunches will now be distributed at any of the Columbus City School High Schools. They also will have evening hours from 4pm to 6pm for families who may need later availability.
The meals will include freshly prepared hot and cold items such as pizza, hamburgers, lasagna rolls, salads, fresh fruits and vegetables, muffins, juice, and milk. During this time, families will also be able to pick up the next day’s breakfast.
Also, new, take-home meals will be available to support students on the weekends and holidays.
