Nov. 22 - 24: Thanksgiving Break No School for Students

There are a lot of items in the lost and found. Students were given a preview of items at last week's Community Gathering. We will keep these items on display in the main hallway and/or nurse's office until Thanksgiving Break. Unmarked and unclaimed items will be donated.

Please check to see if your child's hoodies and coats are labeled with a name. This makes returning left-behind items much easier!

The St. Mary's County School Nutrition Association is conducting a food drive to help the families in our community that are in need. Our student council will be collecting food pantry donations beginning November 13th. All of the food collected will be donated to a north-end and south-end food pantry.

Staff Appreciation Day

Our PTA is pleased to announce that it will be hosting an appreciation day and luncheon for staff on November 17th to honor all that the school staff does for the school and the students.

All students are highly encouraged to make a thank you card and give it to their teacher(s) on November 17th!

Holiday Event

Our PTA is in the midst of planning a fun holiday event for the whole family on Friday, December 8. To ensure its success, volunteers are greatly needed.

To volunteer, you need to have already registered with SMCPS as a volunteer.

St. Mary's County Public Schools (SMCPS) receives additional federal funding based on our SMCPS parent(s)/legal guardian(s) who work on federal property, live on federal property, and/or are active duty military. SMCPS is required to survey each student's family to determine eligibility for these additional funds.

Additionally, please complete the SMCPS Online Emergency Form. Effective communication is critical to the success of St. Mary’s County Public Schools. Updated information is crucial for timely and effective communication with families for notification of emergencies and general information.

The attached letter, from Dr. James S. Smith, Superintendent of School, provides the links to complete the above-mentioned surveys through the Home Access Center (HAC). Forms for each student must be completed by Tuesday, November 14, 2023. We appreciate your cooperation in completing these forms.

2023-2024 Impact Aid Reminder from SMCPS Superintendent

Fifth-graders Andrew Mickley, Ryan Ritchie and Amelia Selk were honored guest speakers at the 48th Annual Veteran's Day Parade in Leonardtown. They each shared an essay on "What Veteran's Day Means to Me".
