This week, OHS Sophomore Ellsie Estes has been selected as an Athlete of the Week! Ellsie is a crucial member of the varsity cross country team, kicking off her season with an excellent finish at the SWCCCA meet, according to Head Cross Country Coach Mitchell Furtkamp.
"Ellsie has shown consistent effort from the beginning of summer until now," Furtkamp said. "She kicked off the cross country season with a seventh-place overall finish at the Southwest Cross Country Coaches Association meet in Bolivar. Her time of 19:49 at that meet places her top 10 all-time for our program. She led our girls to an overall meet victory as they placed first out of 21 teams. It will be fun to see what other accomplishments Ellsie and our girls team have in store this season."

This week, OHS Sophomore Josey Roberts has been selected as an Athlete of the Week! Josey is an influential leader on the varsity girls golf team, according to Head Girls Golf Coach Daniel Mullis.
"To start the season, she had a second-place finish at the Lady Laker Invitational in Camdenton," Mullis said.
Josey is also coming off an impressive freshman season, where she placed fifth at the Class 4 State Golf Tournament.

This week, OHS Senior Maddie Hylton has been selected as Artist of the Week! Maddie is a member of the OHS color guard and serves the team as a captain this year, according to Color Guard Coach Theresa Walls.
"Maddie is an exceptional leader in our program," Walls said. "She is constantly taking care of her teammates both on and off the field while setting the performance standard to a new bar each week. I can't wait to see what she achieves this competition season."

This week, OHS Senior Adam Lupton has been selected as Tiger of the Week! Adam is an integral part of Ozark's Speech and Debate team, according to Speech and Debate Sponsor Nathan Harmon.
"Adam is a strong advocate for debate and respectful discourse," Harmon said. "He is a leader in Speech and Debate."
Adam said, "I'm excited for the start of a new season and can't wait to see how well we do."

Join the Ozark Tigers Booster Club
The Ozark Tigers Booster Club is looking for new members and will have tables set up at the OHS athletic events over the next few weeks! The Booster Club is made up of parents, family and community members volunteering to give back to the Ozark athletic teams, activities and clubs. They have raised and given back over $500,000 the past six years to Ozark programs. Make sure to stop at their table to get more information!
Meet Tom Meyer!
Tom Meyer is currently the Director of Bands in the Ozark School District. He teaches instrumental music from grades 7-12 and helps lead the Pride of the Ozarks marching band. Meyer has been at Ozark since 2012. He has a degree in Music Education from Missouri State University. Before teaching at Ozark, he worked with numerous world-renowned drum corps, the Colts and Music City. Meyer is also a sought-after judge and clinician for concert and marching band competitions around Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas.
Volleyball Takes First Place at Crossroads Classic Tournament
Ozark Volleyball took home first place from the Crossroads Classic Tournament on Sept. 9. The tournament, held in Effingham, Illinois, featured 24 teams from Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. Congrats ladies!

On Sunday, Sept. 10, JROTC cadets gave a very special exhibition performance at local restaurant B29! We love seeing our students out in the community! Great job Tigers!

Meet Ozark Alum, Aleah Hayes!
Aleah Hayes (class of '09) was awarded a Wynn award in 2017 by the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame for her time playing volleyball at Ozark High School, Texas Tech and Columbia College. Hayes was a two-time All-State selection and two-time All-District first team. She was a three-time Southwest Missouri All-Region team pick and was Ozark's MVP for two years. Overall, she was a four-year starting varsity setter and part of the 2007 district championship team, finishing as the school record holder in aces in a match (11), season assists (724), career assists (2,076) and career aces (120).
