Principal's Corner
Hello North Junior High Families;
I hope this message finds you and your family well. I hope you were bundled up this morning to start your day. The cold weather is a clear indicator that we are comfortably into the school year. We have some important events on the horizon and information we would like to share with you. Please see below:
Mural Paint Party:
Join us on Wednesday, October 19, to begin our NJH Community Mural. We welcome you to the NJH cafeteria between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to meet other community members and get your hands dirty. This will be the first community event as we continue our transition work leading to our inaugural middle school year! We hope to see you Wednesday night. Wear clothing you don't mind getting dirty.
Unity Day:
Next Wednesday, October 19, is Unity Day. This is a national event and is celebrated around the world. NJH is commemorating this day by wearing Orange and asking students to commit to joining each other in creating a caring, inclusive school community.
College Planning for 9th Grade Families:
Mark your calendar for Tuesday, November 15th at 7 pm for our 9th Grade Parent Meeting. Don't miss this informative conversation about getting ready for High School and beyond!!!
College may seem a long way off, but post-secondary planning should already be something you are considering. After all, one-third of the grades colleges will use to decide on your application come from ninth grade! This session will cover the basics: timelines, what colleges are looking for in a successful applicant, and what students can do to "keep the doors open.”
