Announcements and Reminders
Have a safe and relaxing Spring Break next week! Students and staff return to learning on Monday, April 10. SKG will be closed Monday, April 3 - Friday, April 7. Note that GCPS does not offer meal service on student holidays.
We will begin Chromebook Check-ups the week we return from Spring Break on Wednesday, April 12 - Friday, April 14. It is vital that students bring their Chromebook, charger, and Chromebook case to school every day. All stickers should be removed prior to Check-up. All items not present during Check-up will be accessed a fine. Fines will be issued for any missing or damaged items.
Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony
The Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 13, at 7:30 AM in the gym. All students with a cumulative GPA of a 90% or higher (without rounding) are invited to attend and will receive a certificate, as well as 10th-12th grades will receive their Academic Letter. Students received invitations to the ceremony last week. Students are permitted two guests due to seating limitations.
Senior Honors Night
Our Senior Honors Night, including Departmental Awards, will take place on Thursday, April 27—more details to follow.
Be sure to check out GCPS's Portrait of a Graduate video, where our Senior Jaguar, Colleen Blascik is featured. The Portrait of a Graduate comprises six core competencies that articulate GCPS's aspirations for all students - Adaptability, Collaborative Leadership, Resourcefulness, Empathy, Critical Thinking, and Communication. Great job, Colleen! Go Jags!
Join us for Pride & Prejudice. Presented by the Seckinger High School Theatre Program on Wednesday, April 12th through Friday, April 14th at 6:00 PM. Tickets are available for purchase on GoFan. To purchase your tickets, click here.
GCPS is hosting an inspirational and fun event for all students interested in a teaching career. Their families are invited, too! The evening will celebrate future teachers as they sign a “Letter of Intent” to return to GCPS after college graduation! Students can network with representatives of education programs at colleges and universities and GCPS curriculum departments. Guest speakers, photo opportunities, and scholarship announcements will round out the activities. Please join us from 5:30-7 pm on April 11 at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center in Suwanee!
2023 GCPS Book Mobile 5K
Book it for the bus! The 2023 GCPS Book Mobile 5K and Fun Run will be held Saturday, May 6, at the district’s Instructional Support Center at 437 Old Peachtree Road NW in Suwanee. The event will raise funds to purchase new books for the school-based Book the Bus program, helping children build their own libraries. A family-friendly atmosphere before and after the race features vendor exhibits, games, music, and more! Early Bird Registration ends Saturday, April 1. PTSA First Citizens Bank Scholarship
SKG PTSA is excited to partner with First Citizens Bank, sponsoring a $500 Seckinger Senior Scholarship to one SKG 2023 senior. Before completing this application, please read the Eligibility, Scholarship Facts, and Application Procedure/Instructions. This is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship. Please see the scholarship application attached below. Students can submit their applications to the front office or send via email to skgptsa@gmail.com. Applications are due by April 10, 2023.

Seniors
High school graduating seniors who have an overall “A” average, 90% or greater, will be exempt from taking local semester examinations for the second semester except when an EOC Assessment is required. High school graduating seniors who have an “A” average, 90% or greater, in a specific course may be exempt from taking a local second semester examination on a course-by-course basis.

SAT and ACT Dates and Deadlines: Taking the SAT or ACT this school year? Be sure to check out the links below for the remaining test dates and the registration deadlines. These are the FINAL SAT dates to count for registration and admission deadlines for many colleges and universities. If you qualify for free and reduced lunch, you can take the SAT and ACT for free. Visit Ms. Antwi in the College and Career Center.
Final SAT Test Date:

College and Career Center
Univision 34 Atlanta is now accepting applications for the “Liga de Campeones” scholarship! Applications are open until Sunday, April 30, 2023. The "Liga de Campeones" education initiative was founded by Univision 34 Atlanta in 2004, with the purpose of helping Georgia's Hispanic youth achieve their higher education goals. Since its beginning, dozens of outstanding students have received funding to further their academic dreams.
The winners of the "Liga de Campeones" scholarship stand out for their great entrepreneurial spirit and for their academic, athletic and community achievements. A total of 6 (six) winners will each receive $2,000 (Two Thousand dollars) and will be interviewed on one of the local Noticias 34 and Contigo Atlanta programs. - Only Seckinger HS students and opposing HS students will be permitted in games without a parent. High School IDs will be checked.
- Students must leave school on game day and can return thirty minutes before the start.
