Managing Student Anxiety with Resilient Health
Don't ask leading questions.
Encourage your child to talk about their feelings, but try not to ask leading questions - "Are you anxious about the big test?" Instead, ask open-ended questions: "How are you feeling about the science fair?"
Open-ended questions help kids to reflect on their own emotional experience, which is an important part of managing anxiety. Anxiety often shows up in some specific situations but not others, so it's important to not make assumptions about a child's emotions, but instead let them tap into that understanding and share information about how they feel.

STUCO Fundraiser
STUCO raised over $350 for the HOPE Institute. To celebrate, students were encouraged to dress as what they hope to be when they grow up.
The HOPE Institute, opened in 2023, is a one-of-a-kind treatment center to address the mental health needs of students within the Chandler Unified School District. It is located at the corner of Queen Creek and Val Vista off the student parking lot of Perry House (1845 E. Queen Creek Rd. Gilbert, AZ 85297). More information can be found at

Art Masterpiece
Mr. Metrakos' 5th Grade class learned about the art of Arizona Artist, Robert McCall. His work invites one to ride on a spectrum of color, brilliance, and imagination-to become part of the twisting kaleidoscope that is our ever-expanding knowledge of the universe.
Spelling Bee
Congratulations to our Class Room Spelling Bee Winners, Hridaan T., Faro G., Robert G., Pragya J., Abhi B., Lozen J. and Lily C. After 20 rounds, the winner of the CTA Goodman's Spelling Bee is Hridaan T.! He will now go on to compete at the District Office.
Thank you Ms. Conti and Ms. Kribs for organizing the school spelling bee. Thank you
Diwali
This week Mrs. Poganski's 4th Grade class celebrated Diwali by learning about the holiday from our awesome para, Mrs. Shree. Our students learned that Diwali is a celebration of lights and hope. We assembled our own diyas in class and learned that these represent prosperity in the new year.
Kindergarten Open House
On Tuesday night, families interested in CTA Goodman were invited to attend our Kindergarten Open House. Families scanned QR codes, to access videos, introducing them to our Specials Teachers and giving families the opportunity to see a class in session. Families met and spoke with the Kindergarten teachers, as well as Mrs. Graham and Ms. Elliott.
Be on the lookout for our next Kindergarten Open House!

Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
