Richey's First Take

Please remember doors open at 8:45 am.

Students are late after 9:00 am. It is very important for our students to be here before 9:00 am because we start our instructional day at 9:00 am.

Students arriving after 9 am require their parent/guardian to enter the school to sign them in for the school day.

If you are changing the way your student(s) are going home. Please send a note to the school so we can make sure the teacher is aware.

If you have to make a last-minute change please do so as early as possible because our teachers start teaching at 9:00 am.

We will now begin Car Rider Dismissal at 3:40. This will ensure that we are maximizing our academic time with our students.

Please remember not to block the driveways of our neighbors. Also, make sure you are not blocking the exit of the Richey circle as this causes a delay as cars are unable to exit the circle.

Families you are doing a great job with this.

Remember the parents who are meeting independent walker students you should be waiting over by the end of the garden.

Every morning we recite the Richey PAWS Pledge as a way to set expectations and start our day off positively. Do you know the Pledge or what PAWS stands for?

Richey partners with the Food Bank of Delaware to provide our students with non-perishable food to take home on the weekends. No applications or verification to participate. If you would like your student(s) to bring home food on the weekends, please return the Interest Slip that was sent home to Mrs. Durant or send her an email at Jaclyn.Durant@redclay.k12.de.us

Here at Richey, we have Mutli-Tiered System of Supports. MTSS is similar to an umbrella that covers Academic Interventions, Social Emotional Learning, Positive Behavior Supports, and Emotional Wellbeing. Every month we will keep you updated on the upcoming MTSS/PAWS Events!

Families can minimize waiting outside in inclement weather while enjoying more family time together.
