A Message from Mrs. Stauffer
Happy Fall! We had quite a busy September at Rainbow! Students and staff got back into the school groove. This month we begin benchmark testing to establish student learning targets in reading and math, we celebrated Patriots’ Day, we practiced the Wildcat Code, started Safety Patrol, and implemented the Zones of Regulation social-emotional learning curriculum. We are also recognizing our PAW recipients and classrooms began earning classroom cash for following the Wildcat Code. Classes are cashing their cash in for a sweet treat, extra recess, and game time. I wonder which class will be the first to earn a P.J. Day?
Fall brings us many exciting school events:
- Fall Pictures 10/3
- PTO Meeting 10/12 Virtual 7:00 PM
- Rainbow Reps Election Week of 10/2
- Fire Prevention Week 10/9-10/13
- Candygram Sale Week of 10/16
- Rainbow Trunk or Treat 10/26
- Early Dismissal 10/18
- Fall Fest Classroom Celebrations 10/27
- Red Ribbon Week 10/23-10/27
We continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. This week our morning announcements will spotlight traditions. Ask your student to share what he or she has learned.
Stay well and stay healthy!
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Stauffer

When to keep your child home from school
As we head into cooler months, we are starting to see more sickness -flu, colds, sore throats, and coughs. Sometimes it’s difficult to decide whether to keep your child at home. Here are some general guidelines to follow to help keep our staff and students healthy!
Per the school policy, please keep your child at home if they exhibit any of the following symptoms:
- fever (temperature 99.8 or higher), chills
- persistent cough
- unusual skin rash
- abdominal pain
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- sore throat
- congestion/ runny nose (not associated with seasonal allergies)
- pink, crusty eyes
Children should remain at home at least 24 hours without fever or vomiting/diarrhea following an illness.
