Cougar Cub Parent News

Well we have made it to the last parent newsletter of the school year. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your partnership this year. Our students have shown tremendous growth in academics. We have met most of our Campus Improvement Goals targeting reading, math, discipline and targeted intervention. I am so proud of the work our staff and students have put in to achieve these results.

We watched the students in the PGE talent show this morning and there were wonderful performances. We have some amazing talent at PGE!

We have a new fence...Surprise! We knew we were getting a fence to increase safety and security but wasn't aware it would be this week. The administration has no input on where the fence is placed. We will communicate how to access our playground during the summer and evening hours. For now, we are still waiting on gates. Stay tuned for more information...

Our end of year celebrations are next week, please see the schedules below. Students will receive awards and have an opportunity for pictures to celebrate their year.

We will have early release on Thursday, May 25th at 12:10.

All library books were due on May 15th. If you see any laying around, please turn them in as soon as possible. You can check your child’s library account at any time by using the directions titled “How to Check Your Library Account”.

Summer reading from the public libraries kicks off May 29th! Please see the flyers for more information. K-4th has one program, while students going to middle school have a different program. All the information can also be found in our Library Corner Schoology course.

Submitting an Excuse Note

• · Notes must be turned in no later than five days upon returning to school
• · A medical note or parent note can be scanned and/or emailed to the campus email attendancepge@fortbendisd.com or dewana.curran@fortbendisd.com

Excuse notes should always include:

• · Student’s full name
• · Student’s ID number
• · Today’s date
• · Date(s) of absence
• · Reason for absence
• · Parent contact information

**After 3 consecutive absences a physician's note is required​​**
