Panther Pride Run
Panther Pride Run has been rescheduled for this Friday, March 3. We have raised $12K and the students and staff will earn an extra 10 minutes of lunch. When we hit $15K, students will get a free dress day at PE AND we will buy an ice machine. When we hit $20K, we will have a school wide pizza party! We have had some wonderful donations from families.
We need 200 new families to each donate $40 and we will hit our goal. 🤑🤑🤑
Funds raised will support field trips, our beautiful garden, classroom items, assemblies, social functions, and promotion activities. Can you help us reach our goal?
Ask friends, family, and co-workers for pledges! It’s easy to get started, just set up your personal fundraising webpage at www.pledgestar.com/deportola.
If you are interested in blasting children with water guns on the day of the Panther Pride Run, please register on our Sign Up Genius. Students will run during their scheduled PE time.
Let’s do this Panthers! The De Portola Foundation appreciates your support!
Last prize distribution will be Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
Yearbooks
This Wednesday, March 1st, there are two important events happening for yearbook sales. On March 1st, the yearbook will now cost $55. Get while it is still $50 at www.yearbookforever.com! 8th Grade Yearbook Ads are also due on March 1st. Please do not wait until the very last minute to put your ad together, the website (www.yearbookforever.com) can be unpredictable and we do not have any control over it. We will not be able to take any Ad submissions after March 1st. Please contact Ms. McIntosh at smcintosh@sandi.net with any questions.
Flag Football
Dear Families,
SDUSD students' in grades 6-8 have an amazing opportunity to participate in Middle School Athletics after school and on Saturdays at middle and high school campuses. We invite your student to participate this upcoming spring season in either boys flag football or girls flag football. This opportunity is for SDUSD students only. Please fill out this form to sign your student up to participate in either boys flag football or girls flag football during the spring season. Completion of this form allows your student to tryout for their school's team. If activity is off campus, transportation may be provided via private auto, walking, or by school bus.
Thank you,
Lonnie Jones
SDUSD Middle School Athletics Coordinator
Reporting absences
Absences outside of illness such as death in the family, military deployment leaves, injuries, regular appointments such as doctor, dentist, and orthodontist are excused. Absences outside of the above listed examples should be reported as "personal reasons, non-Covid related". Thank you for your honesty with reporting absences. We are far more concerned about the health and safety of our students and staff than we are with unexcused absences.
Please call the office at 619-605-4800 and press 3 or email Miss Dora at dbriggs@sandi.net for all absences.
