Hearing and vision screenings will occur next week (10/16 - 10/20) for all 7th-grade students and students new to Loudoun County Public Schools.

Our trained hearing and vision team will screen students during their PE block. Please wear prescription glasses, contacts, or hearing aids for the screening.

A screening is not diagnostic, but it can identify the possibility of a health condition. If your student does not pass a hearing or vision screening you will be notified in writing with a recommendation to follow up with your healthcare provider for further evaluation.

Hearing and Vision screenings are performed in accordance with the Code of Virginia (Code of Virginia Section 22.1-273).

If your child is participating in the after school Club Ranger Program, you may review this website link for details on sponsors, dates, activity bus information, etc. If you have any questions about this program, please contact the Brambleton Ranger Program Coordinator, Matthew Prince (Matthew.Prince@lcps.org) and Carol Rodrigues (Carol.Rodrigues@lcps.org) Or, if the question is specific to a club, please contact that club sponsor.

Our school librarians have fun and "spooky" activities planned for the month of October to encourage reading and accessing our library. More information is on the flyer below.

The Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition presents middle and high school students with an opportunity to identify an issue in their communities and implement a solution as they contribute to the world around them. Students will create a 5-minute team video due February 21, 2024, and then the top 20 teams will present live to judges on March 11, 2024. The Finals and Awards Ceremony will be on March 21, 2024, where the top 10 teams will be invited to present for cash prizes.

Registration for the Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition is now open. You will find information about SULYC and the link for the application at: www.loudounyouth.org under Programs: Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition.

BAM PTSA & our military connected counselor are partnering once again to host our annual Veterans Day breakfast and flag raising ceremony on Friday, November 10th from 7:45am-8:45am. We would like to invite our Veteran and Active Duty BAM families and their students to join us for this special event. If you are interested in attending the event please see details on the flyer below and click the flyer to RSVP by November 3rd. We look forward to honoring our Veteran and Active Duty military families!

If your 8th grade student is interested in applying to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST), please visit their website for important admissions information. Additionally, TJHSST asks that parents watch the 33-minute presentation on freshman admissions prior to attending a Fall 2023 TJHSST Admissions presentation. Their website provides specific update-to-date information about the freshman application timeline, requirements, components, and more.

After reviewing the TJHSST admissions presentation and attending one of the parent admissions presentations, if you have additional questions about the application process please reach out to your student's assigned school counselor.
