Students will have an opportunity to eat lunch during the shorter days next week. Ms. Karen will be serving hot lunch to those who wish to purchase or you'll want to send a cold lunch with your kids as normal. Even if the cold lunch is smaller than usual, please plan to pack something for these days. There will not be recess on these days and students will have a single special during the two days.
The Parent Teacher conferences are scheduled for 20 minutes in length and are your opportunity to communicate with teachers about your child(ren)'s progress. Staff have them back-to-back for the two days in an effort to try to meet with every parent. Thanks in advance for arriving on time to meet with teachers. They're looking forward to meeting with you!

Congratulations to all of our students who ran for offices for their wonderful campaigns. Classrooms are currently choosing two representatives to join the Student Council this year. We're excited to have Mr. Ring and Ms. VanderMartin leading this group for a wonderful year!!!
Learning is fun in Ms. Warnock's class!!!
Students were exposed to a new form of art called Zentangle that has no up or down, front or back and uses repeating patterns of choice. Students had to follow directions to create the pumpkin shape, plan their designs, and adapt if the lines were too small when tracing with a black marker. We also learned to go with the flow and about water resistance while using crayons and watercolors to complete the project. This project has been 4 brief sessions of 15-20 minutes so they learned time management and how to handle not completing work within a set time frame as well- flexibility!
Volunteer Vetting Continues!!

PTA Information for our families:
October 19, 2022
Hello RC families, I can’t believe we are nearing Halloween. Where does the time go these days?
We need volunteers to bring in food, beverages, desserts, etc. to teachers during Parent-Teacher conferences on October 26-27th. Please sign up now through this link and show all the teachers your appreciation! The link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094EA5AE2CA2FF2-conference1. Please note: the Book Fair will be held in November this year, instead of during Parent-Teacher conferences.
We are quickly approaching the Monster Mash: Trunk or Treat event being held next Friday, October 28th from 6-7:30pm in the parking lot of Rabbit Creek. The tickets are $5 per family and this includes 1 trip around to all the trunks for candy, hot chocolate, a dance with a DJ and lights and a photo booth. What a bargain! We are still looking for volunteers as well–in giving candy out (of your trunk) as well as those helping with the event and as a thank you, your ticket fee is waived. Please visit the Rabbit Creek PTA page for tickets as well as volunteering for this fun event!
We are still looking to increase our PTA membership and the classroom with the most participation by October 28th will win a pizza party. Please consider joining PTA through an individual ($10), family ($15) or business ($50) membership by visiting https://form.jotform.com/92304757793164 and completing our online form.
The 44th annual Christmas Towne Bazaar is quickly approaching, being held on Saturday November 5th at South HS from 10am-4pm. The 6th grade class will be selling the freshly baked goodies from all the RC parents, so be sure to stop by their booth to support RC. Come to the bazaar and get some early Christmas shopping done as well as supporting local businesses.
Just a reminder that picture retakes will be held on November 9th.
Our biannual Dine to Donate event held at Texas Roadhouse will be on November 17th. You can sit back and relax, enjoy a meal out with the family knowing 10% of the meal will go back to Rabbit Creek!
You can still purchase memory books at ybpay.com with the Yearbook ID code of 13268823. The books are $20 each and parents can decide to personalize the book with their child’s school photo on the front, if they wish.
Spirit wear has arrived and your child should have received your swag. If you have any questions/concerns, please contact myself or another PTA board member.
Please join us Tuesday, November 15th at 7pm in the RC library for our next PTA meeting. To stay up to date with current PTA issues and activities, refer to our PTA website www.rabbitcreekpta.org and our closed PTA Facebook group "Rabbit Creek Elementary PTA".
