St. Anne School Family Newsletter
May 12, 2021
Dear St. Anne Parents,
COMMUNICATION ALERT: We were just informed by PG&E that they will be replacing a transformer up the street from the school on Friday, May 14, which will most likely cause power outages at school between 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Because of this power outage, our school phone will be in and out of service during the time we are without power. You can email the school BUT if there is an emergency, and you need to reach us at school, you can call on my cell phone: 650-823-7016.
DISTANCE LEARNERS' ALERT: Due to the fact that we will most likely not have power this Friday due to PG&E's transformer work, teachers WILL NOT be hosting their Zoom classes. Distance Learners will be given their Friday assignments on Thursday before class ends.
5K WALK-A-THON - FRIDAY, MAY 14TH
The 5K Walk-a-thon is this Friday. We’re in the home stretch and have raised close to $44,000! This is a tremendous effort from all St. Anne families and friends - You are all Simply the Best! It’s also a good time now to send reminders to family and friends to send in their donations from Pledgestar - this can be our last push to finish strong!
For those who haven’t made their donations yet, you may create an account in PledgeStar at any time to make an online gift. Or you may write a check to SAPTO, accompanied with your pledge sheet (from the Walk-a-thon info packet). Reminder the minimum fundraising goal for each student is $150 and must be submitted by May 21st.
Let us know ASAP if you've started the match gift process with your employer so we can be on the lookout for any payments to come through the school. And you may qualify for the Going the Extra Mile (homework pass) prize. Please contact Pui Yee Law at law.aranas@gmail.com if you have any questions.

SINCERE THANKS AND BEST WISHES TO THREE DEPARTING TEACHERS
I am very sad to say Good Bye to three of our current teachers. Sr. Katie O'Hanlon, our primary resource teacher, and Mrs. Claudine Hallisy, our Jr. High Resource teacher, will be retiring at the end of this school year. Sr. Katie joined our staff in 1998 and Claudine came aboard in 2004. They have devoted all their time working with so many students helping each individual reach his/her full-potential and instilling confidence in them helping them to be successful independent learners and leaders in the future. We are also saying farewell to our third grade teacher, Ms. Michaela Ruiz. Michaela was our Kindergarten teacher last year and now is our third grade teacher. Michaela will be working on a Special Education credential. Michaela has done a wonderful job instructing and guiding our young students and providing them with a sense of wonder and love of learning.
I am sure you will join me in thanking Sr. Katie, Mrs. Hallisy, and Ms. Ruiz for sharing all their talents and their love of learning with our students all these years. We have been blessed to have them at St. Anne School! God bless them as they continue on their life's journey.
