LMS Weekly Showcase
Congratulations to our LMS Math Team
Our LMS mathletes competed in the regional MATHCOUNTS competition on Saturday, 3rd. There were over 120 competitors representing 18 schools.
The LMS team consisting of Mason Hall (8th grade), Addison Owen, Kamilla Moore and Elliot Orthner placed 3rd overall. Mason Hall and Addison Owen placed in the top ten individuals. Mason Hall also placed FIRST in the fast paced Countdown round. These four students have been invited to compete in states next month in Baltimore.
We are extremely proud of all twelve students along with their coaches, Mrs. Orthner and Ms. Toth, who spent their Saturday morning bravely competing against the region’s top mathletes.
Congratulations!!
Congratulations to the LMS Robotics Team
The Fries and Fireworks participated this weekend in the Vex competition, Full Volume. They put in a lot of hard work and effort to design and build their own robot. Each team competed in 3 skills challenges, where they drove the robot with a remote control to score the highest points possible, as well as in 5 team matches, where they worked in cooperation with other teams to score the most points together. Members of the teams are Phillip Haycraft, Gavin Spencer, Kamilla Morre, Elayne Tucker, Emmett Gray, Bentley Drumm, James Kennedy, Wyatt Spencer, Lienna Allen, and Roy Teas.

Send a Positive Note to Our School Counselors
According to Jill Cook, the Executive Director of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), “School counselors work with all students to remove barriers to learning by addressing students’ academic concerns, career options and social/emotional skills. [They] help to increase student achievement and provide a much-needed resource for students, parents, teachers and administrators. School counselors are integral to student success.”
Those words definitely hold true for our LMS School Counselors, Mr. Leo, Mr. Johnson, and Ms. Doerrer (our grade level counselors), and Ms. Fenwick, our Mental Health Counselor. This is their week. Be sure to send a positive note their way.
Thank you, LMS Counselors. I don't know what we would do without you.
