Dear Erickson Families,
Kindergarten Registration coming soon in February. Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2023, are eligible for kindergarten during the 2023-2024 school year. More information to follow.
Valentine's Day is Tuesday, February 14th and at Erickson we LOVE to create fun experiences for students!
- We will have our annual PTO Valentine's Day parties on Tuesday, February 14th.
- Morning Kindergarten and Preschool parties will be at 10:20-11:20
- Preschool through 5th grade afternoon parties will be from 2:00-3:00.
- Students can bring in valentines to pass out to classmates. They can bring in a packaged food item (ie- sucker) or non-food item to accompany the valentine that will go home. Teachers will communicate if there are food allergies (ie- nuts) in the classroom so you know what not to purchase if your child chooses to participate in passing out valentines.
- The PTO will again be sponsoring a valentine fundraiser called Valentine Grams. Students will be bringing home copy of the Valentine Grams Flyer next week! Stay tuned.
Students who participate in the Accelerated Reader program and have earned 50 points by January 22 are invited to Accelerated Reader (AR) Night Out on Friday, January 27th from 6:00-8:00pm at Erickson. Keep reading! The deadline to earn 50 points is January 22. AR Night Out is only for students who earn 50 AR points. If you earn 50 points, Mrs. Grover and Miss Bley will send home a permission slip with the student.

AIMSWEB Winter Benchmark Assessment
AIMSWEB Winter Benchmark Assessment: This next week, all students in first - fifth grade will participate in AIMSWeb Benchmark reading and math assessments. These assessments are very short and help the school evaluate the growth of our students. This is the first year the Bloomingdale School District has used the AIMSWeb assessment for all students. If you have questions about these assessments please reach out to the classroom teacher.
The elementary school districts that send their students to Lake Park High School have collaboratively offered a parent university learning opportunity available free using the Zoom platform. The program is scheduled for Wednesday, January 25 between 7-8 p.m. and hosted by Tom Hierck on the topic: Supporting the Whole Child. Tom Hierck will share with parents executive functioning and addressing stress and trauma with an eye on their own children. If you are interested in observing or participating in this learning opportunity, the link to register can be found HERE.
