3/4/5 Classes Update
The 2022-2023 school year was the first year that Stony Point students in grades 3-5 were grouped in grade-banded homeroom classes (3/4 classes, 4/5 classes) due to staffing allocations. We analyzed data to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of this model. We are excited to continue what is working well (gains in reading achievement, students forming friendships across grade levels, and having multiple staff members wrap around and support our students) while addressing what wasn't working as well in this structure. We have received approval for additional staffing to add another classroom teacher at Stony Point, which will allow us to return to the traditional classroom model.
Our teachers for third through fifth grade are as follows:
- Third grade: Addison Holmes and Caleb Davis
- Fourth grade: Kathy Anish
- Fifth grade: Christian Ewers and Emily Fleming
Welcome, Mr. Davis!
Mr. Davis enjoys the experience of teamwork and the drive to learn something new every day, which he attributes to his experience playing and coaching baseball. He is a strong believer that one of the most important parts of teaching is forming partnerships with his students and their families. He strives to keep a positive attitude in his classroom at all times and is looking forward to getting to know the Stony Point community.

Transportation route information is available Parent Portal as of Thursday 8/10. If you are able to provide transportation for your child and are no longer in need of a bus route, please contact the Stony Point office staff at stonypointofficestaff@k12albemarle.org.
