STARS FOOTBALL EXTRA POINTS
FINALS WEEK AND WINTER BREAK
TRUE NORTH
Ten years ago, our 2013 class developed the True North mentality. Each point on the 5-pointed star is recognized to represent one belief that our program will be built on. Each point on the star is equal to the one before it. The values of Leadership, Investment, Selflessness, Accountability, and Preparation make up our North Star. In the center of the completed stars lies the T.E.A.M. For the past ten seasons and every moment in between, we have remained consistent in our steadfast belief in these five values. They are our "True North". These beliefs will be our compass in all we do as a program on and off the field. Much like the Northstar in maritime days, we will use our "True North" as the compass we will follow in the journey to the elite. I am proud of these words and what they mean. I have seen them transform lives, including my own. I hope you can share in our "True North" philosophy and discuss these values with your son or daughter as much as possible.

Stars Family -
A Happy New Year to our SCN Football family! The new year is upon us, and I know 2024 will be a year to remember. It is hard to believe we are already a quarter into the 21st century. I remember being a younger man in the early 2000s and thinking about what life would be like this far into the future. I began teaching in 2001, and it is sobering to think I am 23 years into my career. Life is truly short, and while the days may seem long, the years go by faster and faster. My perspective continues to evolve each year, and I am excited to share our vision for the 2024 Stars Football program.
While our program, M.V.P., never changes, I personally try to take a new approach to my leadership each year. No two years are the same, and the program is never the same version twice. At the end of each year, I choose one word to focus on as a husband, father, brother, teacher, and coach. The "one-word challenge," as it is called, is designed to give your life a finite focus. It is a small but powerful gesture of intention that can be used to guide my day-to-day relationships.
This year, my one word is "frequency". Our world is created out of energy, and the human body is powered by a magnificent energy within our hearts. It has been proven that our energy can be felt from up to 10 feet away. Every moment we interact, our internal frequency sends messages that can be felt more potent than our words. This year, I want to focus on the frequency I bring into my life. As a father, I want to bring a loving and caring energy to my two beautiful daughters. As a husband, I want to bring a frequency that is collaborative, understanding, and willing to my wife of 15 years. As a coach/teacher, I want to create a frequency that allows our players and coaches to feel supported and cared for but also challenging enough to allow them to grow. In short, I want to know what energy I am bringing to the practice field and Friday night sidelines. Our success starts with a better version of me this year. I encourage you to discuss the "one-word challenge" as a family and maybe even come up with one word of your own.
True North

To help assist our program and build our athletes during the winter sports performance season we are asking our families to help assist us in providing recovery options for consumption. After each workout we would like to provide our varsity athletes with easy calories to help replensish their systems.
