What is the School Site Council?
Dr. Becky Godbey is the principal at La Ballona. She has worked in education as a teacher and administrator for 24 years. She loves working with children, and tries to make all of her decisions based on what is best for students.
Jackie Longo is a 5th Grade Teacher at La Ballona. She enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, administration, and the school community to meet the needs of our students.
Joanna Orozco has teaching at La Ballona for over 10 years in the Dual Immersion Program. She is the proud mother of a La Ballona preschooler and has been a foundational contributor to La Ballona's Dual Immersion Program.
La'Keisha Jerome has two students who attend CCUSD elementary schools and has been involved in the PTA as a parent and an employee. As the counselor at La Ballona, she is hoping to help build a stronger school culture.
Nicole Wilson has been teaching at La Ballona for over 9 years. She is highly involved in extracurricular activities that make La Ballona a great place to learn. She is on the Leadership Team, ELD Team, SSC, Young Storytellers, and Math Olympiads.
Brenna Moore is a proud parent to a daughter, who has graduated from the dual immersion program, and has a son in 3rd grade. She has been the nutrition teacher for the Growing Great Program and looks forward to continuing to help La Ballona advocate for an environment in which its students can excel.
Fabien Ricard has a 2nd grader and soon-to-be Kindergartener (Fall '21) at La Ballona. He is honored to support this wonderful school and community through the SSC.
Felicity Vabulas has a 3rd grader and 1st grader in La Ballona’s dual immersion program. She is committed to helping La Ballona excel for all students, teachers, and staff.
Paula Shulman is a mom of a 4th grader in The Immersion program and a graduate of the English program. She has been involved in the PTA and hopes to see La Ballona continue to thrive.
Stephanie Phung is a proud Lion Mom of a 5th Grader and 2nd grader in the English program. She is also involved with the PTA, hosting the student store, and serving on the Special Needs committee. She loves the La Ballona spirit and hopes to continue growing the school through her work on the SSC.
By law, our SSC Agenda will be posted 48 hours prior to the meeting. Here is this month's agenda and Zoom link. The public may attend and add a comment during the Public Comments time.
Scoops of Inclusion
The Infinite Flow Dance Company just started a contest with Scoops of Inclusion. Kids can submit in 3 ways if they'd like to participate:

Culver City Julian Dixon Library
LA County Library, including Culver City Julian Dixon Library, supports the important work of schools through free access to books, eBooks, digital content, and online tools, including research databases, online homework help, and many educational enrichment activities that encourage exploration and creativity.
In response to the unique circumstances now facing schools, students, and their families due to COVID-19, LA County Library has developed the Student Card Plus: a fine-free digital library card available for youth ages 0-17, that will allow them to check out up to 3 books at a time from our libraries currently offering Sidewalk Service, and provides full access to our online resources.

Everyone Belongs in our PTA!
We want all families to know that they are welcome to attend our PTA meetings! You do not have to be a member. The PTA is vital to our school. They provide field trips, school supplies, teacher grants, volunteer support, the garden, assemblies, family nights, and much much more. We appreciate everything our parents to to help La Ballona.
