Consider this...
Any exposure and experience with words is beneficial to beginning readers. Consider turning on the closed caption while your child is watching their favorite tv shows and movies.
Word Wall Words
Literacy Workstations
Delaney and Jackson are practicing the proper letter formation.
Nalani and Ry'Leigh put together (CVC) three-letter word puzzles.
Word Work
We continue to "tap" out CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. We listen for the sounds each letter makes, then write the corresponding letter.
Shared Reading
During Shared Reading we are reminded to tap only once under each word.
Math
We began addition this week. We are using manipulatives to add objects and are learning how to write the equations.
Reading Workshop
This week we have talked about the characters and settings of our stories.
Ary'Onna and Avery are enjoying reading books from their Browse Bags.
Social Studies
We have been learning about various holidays celebrated this time of year.
December Challenge
During the month of December, please help your child learn to state is address.
Dutch Fork Elementary will be accepting mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, and socks from now to December 14th. These items will be given to families in need. If you would like to participate, please send the items in and your child can hang them on the tree!
