During the week of November 20th, Sheldon will not be holding classes for students. While this is the short week before the Thanksgiving break, please be aware that we will not be having regular school days, but instead we will have an opportunity for parents to meet with their student’s teachers.
We have scheduled time on Monday, November 20th, and Tuesday, November 21st for parents to meet with teachers regarding their student's progress. The days have been organized to accommodate both parents' needs and the availability of teachers to meet with a variety of parents in different ways.
Here are the conference times:
Monday, November 20, 2023
- 10:30-12:00: Zoom/Telephone Conference
- 1:00-5:00: Conferences
- 6-8:00: IEP/504 meetings only
Tuesday, November 21, 2023
- 10:30-12:00: Zoom/Telephone Conferences
- 1:00-5:00: Conferences
- 6-8:00: Conferences
Conferences are not mandatory, but they provide an excellent opportunity to connect with your student's teachers and discuss their progress. If your student is struggling in a class, you may receive a teacher's outreach encouraging you to attend. There are a number of options for attending including in person, Zoom, or a phone call.
Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in your student's education. We look forward to your participation in these conferences and the opportunity to work together to ensure your student's success.
Our new schedule this year makes attendance crucial for students' academic success, and it's extremely important they attend bell to bell. We are seeing a number of students in the building, but not attending their whole classes. We want to remind you that we have multiple codes for attendance:
Arriving to class marked VL (very late)
Leaving early without permission, or asking to leave early for another reason
Missing class entirely
As you look at your student’s attendance in ParentView please ask your student about any attendance codes that may be coming up. If you need help signing up for ParentVue please do not hesitate to call Sheldon High School and we can help set that up for you.
