Seniors and Senior Parents: Stay tuned for your Senior Guidance talks coming up in September! We will go over post high school plans and provide great information about college applications, community college options, trade schools and military, as well as financial aid resources, including FAFSA and scholarship opportunities.
We will also be sending out our first round of senior letters in the coming weeks. This letter will include transcripts, graduation status, and four year college eligibility information. Please watch your mailboxes for this important letter!
Senior Parents, we will host an evening informational session after we finish our talks with seniors. Please reserve the evening of Thursday, September 29th at 6:00PM for a google meet with us!
Juniors: The PSAT/NMSQT is coming up on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15TH. We will be offering the test here at AGHS on that date to our JUNIOR class only. This test is a way for juniors to practice for the SAT and also to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program and other scholarship opportunities. Doing well on this test can earn juniors recognition they can put on their college applications next fall.
If you want to take this test, please fill out this FORM to register for the test. After completing the form, please pay the fee ($25.00) in our Student Business Office on campus or through our AGHS Webstore at this LINK. The deadline for registration is FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH.
Sophomores: We will be meeting with you in October for your guidance talks. In the meantime, if you have questions or just want to meet with your counselor, please come to the counseling office and make an appointment.
Frosh and Frosh Parents: We can’t wait to meet with all of you and get to know you! Your guidance talks start this week in your English classes. Each counselor will meet with a small group and we will go over all of the important AGHS information and you will get to sign up for an individual appointment if you have more questions.
Frosh Parents, we will host an evening informational session after we finish our talks with freshmen. Please reserve the evening of Thursday, September 8th at 6:00PM for a google meet with us!
Mental Health Counseling: AGHS does have mental health counselors on campus. If interested, your first step is to either set up an appointment to meet with your school counselor or ask to speak with Mrs. Martinez who is located in the administration office.

Scholarships
ELKS TEENAGER OF THE MONTH SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The Oceano/Five Cities Elks Lodge #2504 selects an AGHS senior male and female each month based on achievements, character, leadership, service, citizenship and scholastics. The Teenager of the Month will be recognized at an Elk’s dinner and will then be eligible for selection of "Teenager of the Year". Monthly for the 22'23 School Year - Completed application should be submitted to Brianna.boyd@lmusd.org. Students only need to apply once. If your application is not chosen in a given month, it will be considered for the following month. The sooner you turn in an application, the more opportunities you will have for selection. At the end of April, we have a panel of Elks Members judge the Student of the Month Applications. From this pool, we will select one male and one female who will each receive a college scholarship.
Go to the AGHS Website under scholarships for more information or stop by the Career Center.
