Road Construction Around Norco High School
As we prepare for the first week of school, we want you to be aware of some potential impacts to traffic around our sites due to City of Norco construction projects on First, Second, and Third streets. The District has been in communication with the City and they have instructed their contractors to minimize road closures during high traffic hours before and after school, however we encourage you to plan ahead for any potential delays.
Welcome to Minga!
This school year, Norco High School will move to a digital platform to track school event check-ins, tardies, behavior consequences, and so much more. We are excited for this streamlined, schoolwide platform.
Minga is an easy-to-use Campus Management Platform. .The app works seamlessly across a robust set of modules that focus on Safety & Security, Student Behavior & PBIS, Communication & Engagement, and Campus Operations. Minga empowers Norco High School to create a safe, connected, and engaged campus. All in one place.
How to Access Minga?
- Students can sign in to Minga from any school-issued or personal device at http://app.minga.io using their school email credentials. The app can be accessed through a 1-1 device (a school laptop, notebook, tablet, or other mobile computing device).
- Click on Sign In with Google. Students sign in using their school email address and password.
Why do students download Minga on their personal devices?
It is not mandatory for students to download Minga on their personal device to use Minga at school. Many students choose to download Minga on their personal mobile devices as it makes it more convenient for them to access things they need on a regular basis, on and off campus, such as their student ID. The school issued ChromeBook will work for this platform.

Norco High School - Title 1 Funding
Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, all CNUSD schools will be receiving Federal Title I funding to support all students. These additional funds are allocated based upon a community's level of poverty and need. Title I funds are designed to supplement existing programs in schools and provide additional opportunities to support student’s academics and social-emotional learning.
Some examples of additional support for schools can include:
- Providing extra educational assistance in classrooms; including free before/after school tutoring.
- Providing supplemental funds to close the achievement gap.
- Providing opportunities to assist parents in being involved in their student's education through parent trainings, workshops, etc.
All schools receiving Title I funds are also required to have a Parental Involvement Policy and a School-Parent Compact. These documents will describe the school’s responsibility for providing a high-quality curriculum in a supportive and effective learning environment and the ways parents will support their children’s learning.

CTE Pathways
Traffic & Parking
In an effort to do our part in mitigating the traffic congestion in the student drop off/pick up lanes before school and after school we would like to share the following information:
The yellow lines are curbs that are designated as loading/unloading only. As of today, this area is to be used for those purposes ONLY. Additionally, signs containing this information are posted.
Students, staff and faculty found in violation will be subject to the following:
- Warning notification and documentation of car make/model and license plate # (warning placed under windshield wiper)
- NHS parking violation sticker
- Ticket from Sherriff’s Department)
We thank you for your continued support and understanding in helping us improve.
In an attempt at doing our part in mitigating the traffic congestion surrounding our school we wanted to share with you the following information.
The entire curb in front of the school located on Temescal Ave. has signs posted for 20 minute parking (during the hours of 6:30am – 3:30pm Monday - Friday) and/or NO PARKING - Student Loading Only (driver must remain in vehicle 7:00am – 4:00pm school days).
To avoid being issued a parking citation from the Riverside Sherriff’s office, students are strongly encouraged to park in the student parking lot. Parking in the lot is NOT free. Students may purchase parking stickers through our activities office during normal school hours.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Words Matter Assembly
Norco High School will be holding a special assembly for all students at our school titled “Words Matter” to address the rise of fake threats toward other students and our school.
In this assembly we will be discussing the repercussions students will face for making threats toward other students and/or our school as we have zero tolerance for this type of behavior. All students who are caught making threats will be recommended for expulsion, which means the incident will be brought before a panel of administrators who determine whether students may stay enrolled in our district. In most cases, students are, at the very least, removed from their school and sent to another school in our district. Additionally, students may be revoked the privilege of participation in extracurricular activities, athletics, etc.
As part of the assembly, our students will also hear from our Law Enforcement partners on the criminal charges that come as part of many of these threat investigations.
As always, we appreciate your partnership in reinforcing with our students the importance of being mindful of their words, of their social media posts, and their jokes.
