Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families- Do you want me to comment on the weather? No? Moving on!
Coming up is the MLK observance day, Monday, Jan. 15, so there will be no school. We’ll have our own remembrance activity on Tuesday, Jan. 16, during an extended advisory period, and modified bell schedule for the day.
With just a few weeks remaining in the semester, it may be time to check in with your child’s teachers. Legend has it that once your student hits high school it’s time give them more freedom and independence regarding their academic decisions and progress. This is true- to a point. A second check from a parent on occasion is a good idea as well. We have a practice of “no surprises” regarding grades at the end of the semester, so if you have a concern, and haven’t seen a communication from the teacher, it’s ok to initiate the conversation.
Our first senior night for winter sports was with the wrestling team. That match against North Central was a decisive win and we celebrated our senior wrestlers, manager, and cheer (pictured here)!
Right after break, planning began for our annual March celebration, Verde Loco! ASB leadership and student council are setting the stage for this epic Ridgeline tradition. More to come on this, including ways our community and business partners can support this event through our Shop Loco campaign!
More immediately around the corner is our Winter Formal dance on Feb. 10. Tix on sale next week. While it’s labeled as a formal, we always want students to know that they can get dressed in the best clothes they have at hand without spending extra money! Most importantly, we want all students to attend as it’s open to grades 9-12.
If you want to be entertained and impressed by some outstanding Ridgeline students this weekend, you can check out our dance team competing at Rogers Saturday and the Robotics teams competing at Ridgeline, also Saturday! These teams also work very hard and put in long hours of preparation and we’re proud of the work they do and the achievements they’ve earned!
Last, but not least, if you really want to stay warm, join us at Ridgeline for basketball vs our in-district rival, University High School! Looking forward to some good games and a good time!
Stay on top of information and coming events by skimming the Falcon Flyer every week!
Make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt
