Sanford is seeking staff and community members to consider joining the PFAC (Patient Family Advisory Council) group. The purpose of the PFAC is to look at the facilities interactions with the patients and make them best they can be following the constraints of the governing bodies of the facility (CMS or other commissions for the departments that setup the rules, for example).

So far, the PFAC has reviewed educational materials given out to patients in the nursing care areas (both hospital and surgical) to ensure the materials are easily understood by those receiving them. The PFAC have reviewed patient experience ratings to visit with areas to better understand the ebbs and flows of the work improve understanding of our members. The PFAC also listens to what the community is saying to our members and bring those concerns and questions forward to the appropriate areas to resolve and bring back to the people who asked in the first place.
