Want to use the gym during lunch? Daily completion of the form below is a requirement for entry. Submissions are accepted from 8 to 11 am. You have to use your SMCPS login to access the form. After your initial submission, save the link for quick and easy access. Only fifty students are permitted to sign up for a lunch block (either A or B). Students are expected to enter the gym through the side door adjacent to the girls locker room and be in the gym before the 10 minute bell. Students unlawfully tardy will be redirected to the cafeteria. Students are expected to remain in the gym, no food or drink is allowed and you must have tennis shoes to be on the gym surface.

LHS strongly encourages students to either bring a lunch to school or to purchase one from our cafeteria.

Parents and students, please do not order food to be delivered to Leonardtown High School, it will not be delivered to the student. In addition, parents should not be dropping off lunch to the school for students.

Bus Passes:

Bus passes should only be requested when students have a change in physical address or when there is an emergency situation and a student needs to ride a different bus or get off at a different stop. Bus passes will not be granted for students simply wanting to go visit with a friend.

Need to obtain a bus pass?

Parents can write a note or send an email to Ms. Kelly at akelley@smcps.org in order to request a bus pass. All relevant information must be included in the written request.

Bus Information includes: Student name, address, parent phone number, existing bus stop to be used, bus #, date, medical concerns, destination address, destination phone # and reason for the pass

SENIORS!! The Class of 2023 needs your help to design the OFFICIAL CLASS SHIRT of the Leonardtown Senior Class! When your masterpiece is completed, please submit your design to Mrs. Harding (F15) or Mr. Coombs (E07) by September 9th.

2021-2022 Yearbooks

The 2022 yearbooks are here! Students may pick up their yearbooks during lunch in the auditorium on Wednesday, September 7. Yearbooks will also be available in the aux gym after school from 2:45-5:00.

Pictures Needed!

We are in need of pictures for some of our spreads! Click here for specifics regarding what pictures we still need. Please upload pictures directly to our Yearbook website using ReplayIt. Please do not submit screenshots of pictures or pictures with filters. Please make sure all students featured in the pictures are identified with first and last name and grade level.

Grad Ads

Senior parents interested in creating a grad ad for the yearbook can do so through the Tribute Ads website. The deadline for creating an ad is December 15, 2022. Please visit the Tribute Ads site to create an ad honoring your senior.

Should students need to request a change in your schedule, you need to go into the guidance office and fill out a course change form. We cannot accommodate requests for specific teachers. Students who want to drop an AP course, now need approval from their grade level administrator in addition to completing the course change request form.

IMPORTANT! The last day to add/drop a course is September 16, 2022!

If you have an “aide” period in your schedule, please make sure you are reporting to the correct classroom or office as assigned. Schedules have been updated with correct locations, and attendance is being taken.

Transcripts will not be available for us to send to colleges until mid/late September.

If you need a letter of recommendation from your school counselor, please make sure to let them know as early as possible and make sure to submit the Letter of Recommendation Request form (which is available in Guidance).

The Common Application, which is accepted by more than 900 schools, helps streamline an essential part of the admissions process for students. Through the platform, first-time applicants can apply to multiple colleges at once. Students - do you have an idea, opinion, or belief you really care about? The St. Mary’s County Fair Speech Contest gives students a chance to make their voices heard by presenting their ideas to an audience and a panel of judges. Leonardtown High School will be choosing our student representative for the fair speech contest during lunch on Friday, September 16th in F15 (Ms. Harding’s room). The student representative must be able to attend the fair on Friday, September 23rd. Students can choose any topic considered interesting and appropriate to the family audience. Speeches are expected to be original - written by the contestant - and need to be between three and five minutes long. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards are given for each division; in addition, “Amazing Grace” awards may be given to students whose conduct and speeches reflect kindness, respect, and joy, even in the midst of challenges.

Questions about the fair speech contest and how it is scored can be directed to Ms. Bridges, English department chair (kjbridges@smcps.org). Students can sign up to participate by filling out this Google Form.

New for 2022, families have the option to pay for lost or damaged resources in My School Bucks. A resource can include: library books, laptops, chargers, textbooks, consumables, etc.

When a media specialist marks anything as lost or damaged in Destiny, that fee AUTOMATICALLY shows up as a "real time fee" in My School Bucks.
