Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families--
Our long-anticipated VERDE LOCO month has finally arrived! Festivities kicked off in full-swing at our spirit assembly March 1.
We were treated to amazing performances by Ridgeline Indoor Percussion (RIP), cheer, dance, and a surprise combined dance party with cheerleaders and staff. Our girls basketball team was recognized officially by a representative from Les Schwab for being selected as Team of the Month in December! And there was the rubber ducky situation… It was a showcase of talent, even some of the staff displayed impressive moves! Thank you to our ASB officers and leadership for putting this on for us!
All week students have been preparing for the hallway decorating contest, and this morning was the BIG reveal! The judges were super impressed by the effort of our students. If you’re at the school or dropping off the kids, you should swing inside and see how festive and fun the school is. Our pictures don’t really do it justice. The themes for this year were: 9th-- Top Green (Top Gun); 10th--Green Girls (Mean Girls); 11th--The Green Barrier Reef (Great Barrier Reef, Ocean); 12th--Green Eggs and Ham (Dr. Seuss with a green spin).
Don’t forget to support our business partners and SHOP LOCO when you’re out and about ALL month long!
Join us Tuesday night for Powder Puff Football! Over 120 guys and gals are gearing up for what should be an awkward display of “athleticism” and “grace” (I’m talking about you boys who are posing as cheerleaders!) Come see our girls show off their tough side as they go against one another to try and move that ball up the field!
The game coincides with Future Falcon Family Night. Current 8th graders and their parents will have an opportunity to check out Ridgeline programs, activities, athletics—you name it, during our Open House style event. Tours are available and encouraged.
A couple other highlights for me the past week were a podcast I recorded with Mr. Schilb’s class and cheering on our first team to compete in the Civics Bowl, moderated and filmed at the KSPS studio.
Way down at the bottom of the Flyer are our social media and Youtube links. Join them today to stay connected and see all the great things happening at your kids school!
Make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt

Last week, Ridgeline hosted a mandatory meeting for all new Running Start student participants and their families, and counselors explored more deeply the nature of the program, its finer details, and the responsibilities associated with participation. If you were unable to make the meeting and your student wishes to participate as a new Running Start student during the 23-24 academic year, please contact his/her grade-level counselor to schedule an individual meeting for you and your student. Your student’s grade-level counselor will sign-off on his/her application documents once this meeting is complete. If you have questions and/or you would like to schedule your meeting, please contact Mrs. McMurtrey (mmcmurtrey@cvsd.org 11th grade) or Mrs. Fuller (afuller@cvsd.org 10th grade).
If you would like to review the information presented at last week’s meeting and/or dual credit-Advanced Placement (AP) information one of our AP teachers, Mrs. Teske, offered to students and parents during a virtual meeting several weeks ago, please access the links provided.
