Students, teachers and volunteers are busily preparing art auction items for our Silver Jubilee Gala Auction event! Funds raised at the gala will allow FPE students and teachers to work with Education Assistants during the 24/25 school year. Deb Kerrigan and Robyn Davis do phenomenal work each day supporting students and teachers in every classroom and on the field. Steve Huston supports all lunch-recesses and provides a consistent person students rely upon to coach, ref., and keep students safe.

Last year I used Elementary and Secondary Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds to cover three EA positions. This allowed gala-raised funds to be applied toward replacing half of our play structure with safer, ADA equipment. Those emergency funds ended this school year. As long as I can remember, we’ve relied upon funds raised at the gala to provide salaries for FPE EAs. Next year we will need to rely upon the same. Each time funds are raised to cover salaries, a percentage goes to the General Fund of PPS as a charitable contribution.

Thank you Christina Compton for bringing NWCT’s production of Matilda to FPE. 18 students danced, sang and acted their way to a standing ovation Friday night (linked). Thank you students and families for attending this event!
