VISION SCREENING JANUARY 10
Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation will once again be providing no cost vision screening at Colton Elementary School. OLSHF is a non-profit organization which, in partnership with local Lions clubs, provides vision screenings in over 80% of Oregon school districts. The vision screener works like a digital camera and uses infrared light to measure and detect potential vision problems most commonly found in children. Students' results will be sent home within a few weeks following the screening, along with a list resources for eye exams in the community. If you have any questions, please call the elementary office @ (503)824-3536.
IMMUNIZATION EXCLUSION DAY
Immunization Exclusion Day is February 21, 2024. All students not in compliance with Oregon's Immunization law will be excluded from school on that day, and can not return until they are in compliance.
If your student is not in compliance, you were given a copy of the Oregon Certificate of Immunization Status form at your conference. Please update, sign, and return it to the office as soon as possible.

LOST AND FOUND
Please check our Lost and Found. We have accumulated a lot of coats, sweatshirts and other miscellaneous items. Unclaimed items will be donated to the Colton Clothes Closet at the end of the school year.
New Volunteer Training Requirement
All parents and volunteers, in order for you to work in or around our buildings, you must clear an ODE and CSD background check and complete mandatory training. If you have only completed one of the online training modules, please email hr@colton.k12.or.us to receive the full set. This is a new requirement. If you have any questions, please call the office at (503)824-3536. Thank you for for your support of keeping Colton School District safe!
Friendly Reminder From The Transportation Department
A reminder from the Colton School District Bus Garage:
Winter is here and the mornings are dark, so it is helpful for parents to have some type of light with students at their bus stop. Reflective patches on coats help too. This makes it easier for the school bus drivers and other drivers to see them. Let’s be safe and visible this winter.
Thank you, from the Colton School District Transportation staff.
