February Newsletter

This month our school counselor, Mrs. Bradley, will work with grade levels talking about ways to be kind to your mind Watch this video clip for a great discussion on growth mindset.

On February 28th, from 8:45-9:15 a.m., we invite students and a buddy to come to the school for a doughnut and special reading time . Come and enjoy a doughnut together in our lunchroom, then head to your classes and hallways to read together. You can bring your favorite book, or use books from the classroom! Don't have a buddy to read with? No problem! In our Cougar Den we will have students to read with! We can't wait to see you! Thanks to our PTA for their support of this!

Don't forget that we will not have school on Monday, February 19th! Enjoy spending time together!

3-5th Grade Students - you should have received an information sheet for our next round of choir. We will begin practice on Tuesday, February 20th. If you have questions, please contact the office.

*February 14: Classroom Valentine's Day activities - watch for information from your teachers
*Kindness and Dr. Seuss Week - February 26-March 1st

Details:

• Monday 26: Be your best self - wear your best attire!
• Tuesday 27: Shine bright with kindness - wear a shiny hat or hair attire!
• Wednesday 28: -Books and Buddies (8:45-9:15 a.m.) - dress up like a buddy, a friend, a teacher, a sibling, etc.
• Thursday 29: Be kind to your body - dress your body in a Dr. Seuss character attire!
• Friday - March 1: Be kind to your school - dress in cozy pajamas for a class readathon- each student gets a new book to bring home!

*Parent/Student Conferences: March 6-7 (watch for sign-up information from teachers)

*PTA Scholastic Book Fair - The Book Fair will run this week as well.

*Spirit Night at Iceburg - March 4 time TBA

*Spring Break -April 1-5
