Our incredibly talented Students did a broadcast for the Chester High School Community detailing exciting news and events. Please give a shout out to Ms. King and her students for all their hard work and dedication to getting out the important news and events to everyone at Chester High School. The latest edition of Urban News is in the works, stay turned!!!!
Full Face Ski Masks
Students are forbidden to wear full face ski masks of any type. They MUST be removed before entering the building and will not be permitted to be worn in the building. They will be asked to remove them prior to entrance into Chester High School. If they are seen with them in the building, they will be taken and a parent/guardian notified to come pick up the ski mask. We are asking for your support with this trend that can negatively effect the climate and culture of the building.
School Dress Code
As a reminder, all students must be in uniform daily. Our Climate and Safety Team will be addressing Students who are out of compliance.
The following clothing is not permitted (as outlined in the Student Handbook, and communicated with Students and Families at the beginning of the School Year:
Non-School District Hoodies
Graphic Hoodies
Tights/Leggings
Sweatpants
Bubble Slippers
Plain White T-Shirts
Jeans (unless a School District Approved Day)
****Students are not permitted to tie their shirts in the back and have their stomach exposed****
Chester High Girls Basketball Gets Their 1st Win
The Lady Clippers got their first win of the season this past week against Central High School out of Philadelphia. The dominated from the start and never looked back. Chester High finished a dominate performance with a 58-40 win. Congratulations, Coach Dukes and all the Lady Clippers on a job well done!!!!! Make sure you catch a game and see what all the excitement is about.
The Clippers pull out a exciting win over the West Philly Speedboys
Chester High Boys Basketball wins a thriller on the road against the West Philadelphia High Speedboys. The Clippers improved to 3-1 after a tough road win on Friday at West Philly High. The final score was 58-55. The Clippers are back to their winning ways and will take on La Academia Charter School on Tuesday 12/19 at the Fred Pickett Gymnasium. Come out and support Clippers!
Attendance, Seat Time and Denial of Credit
To obtain academic credit for a course, students must be in attendance and have their attendance recorded at least 90% of the time that a class is scheduled. Failure to attend at least 90% of the scheduled classes of any one credit course or half-credit course may result in a denial of credit for that course. Please reach out to the Guidance Office at Chester High School for further information
Denial of Entrance to Extra-Curricular Activities
Please remind Your Students that if they are in the hallways and cutting class they will NOT be permitted to attend extra-curricular activities. They will be denied entrance to events at Chester High School if they are suspended from school and if they are persistently in the hallways and not attending class.
Congratulations to Ms. Laut and Her Students
The Chester High School Students in Ms. Laut's Honors Chemistry Classes took 1st and 2nd Place in the Chester Upland School District Science Fair High School Division this past week.
FIrst Place went to Students Rahniyah Fitzgerald, Yeimely Maria Gonzalez-Arias, Oyinlade Kyra Oseyemi, Ty'SHay Cousette and Jericka Valentin Hernandez. The 2nd Place Team was made up of Dante Lee, Saikai Jones, Jaseir Thompson and Lamar Warren.
