Come Meet New Teachers, Staff, and the Principal

Where: Grand Isle School

When: Friday, August 19th

Time: 4:30-6:00 PM

Light refreshments and snacks provided by the Grand Isle School PTA.

The PTA will also be present to share information about the organization!

If the weather does not cooperate, we will be in the library. Students and families will be able to see classroom spaces of new teachers and staff.

This is only available to Kindergarten students and families. Our whole school open house will be in September.

Hi GIS Families,

Last week I was a little under the weather and not able to be physically in school. Car tags will be done and ready for mailing or pick up by August 10th. Thanks for your patience!

If you need more than 2 tags, please send me an email.

Morning Coffee and a Photobooth!

7:00-7:45 AM, August 31st

To make the first day of school a little fun and caffeinated, we're setting up a table for parents and guardians to grab a hot cup of coffee during drop-off. The table will be located near the front entrance of the school, or in the lobby if the weather is inclement.

We also will have a little photo area with some "It's My First Day of (pick your grade)" Signs to take a photo with.

Families will not be allowed to walk students to classrooms. The first day can be tough for learners to separate from their families, so we will help create a structure to support the transition.

*** Please park your car along the grass of the driveway, ensuring vehicles can continue to get through, or in an available parking space. Please do not park where buses drop students off. ***

If you haven't checked it out yet, please do! It is designed to be used with mobile devices and will allow you to fill out forms with ease (feature to be activated soon)!

Things to Note:

• The Live Feed is a place where teachers and staff can put photos or updates. This information also directly uploads to our Facebook. **If we do not have a consent form on file for your student, no photos will be used.** **No student names will be used.**
• The news section will have any important updates that are from GIS or GISU.
• Teacher pages can be found in the menu.
• Any communications I send can be found under the Principal's Page.
• You will be able to see our breakfast and lunch options online. **The menu is not yet active**
• You can submit attendance, late arrivals, or early dismissals directly from the website as well.

Pam is working diligently to get all of our forms in a digital format. First through sixth grade returning students will be able to update information soon.
