Welcome to a New School Year
Our Meadow Brook Staff is thrilled to have you back!
Welcome Back Meadow Brook Family!
Welcome back to a new school year! I hope you have had a wonderful summer and feel relaxed, recharged, and ready to begin a new year.
I was able to spend a week with my family in the Rocky Mountains horseback riding, hiking, rafting, and playing lots of games…nothing beats family time! I also started a doctoral program at BYU. I love learning and feel blessed to be placed in an incredible cohort of professionals from whom I am learning a lot.
I want to give a special shout-out to our incredible custodial staff for making our school shine and to our excellent secretaries for getting through registration. Before becoming a principal, I am not sure I appreciated the magnitude of these responsibilities— I am grateful for their hard work and positivity. I also want to thank our team leaders for their work in creating a plan to move our school forward.
As a Mustang Leadership Team, we decided that our focus for the year will be The Future is Ours! As we help students understand their role as learners in the learning process, we empower them to take ownership of their learning and future. As the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu said, “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.” As we continue to find better ways to give students ownership of their learning, they will develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to become expert fishermen and contributing members of society. Throughout this school year, our Mustang staff will have the opportunity to collectively and individually learn and implement more of the Science of Reading and the LETRS Pedagogy.
I feel immensely blessed and humbled to serve with such incredible students, parents, committed educators, secretaries, custodians, lunch workers, and technicians who work hard to bless the lives of children! I am very excited about the new teammates we’ve added— I am confident that their individual experiences and talents will add depth and wisdom to our Mustang team!
I am looking forward to another great year at Meadow Brook! Enjoy the last few weeks of summer. Life is a journey, and the FUTURE IS OURS!

Kindergarten
Kindergarten Families! We are excited to welcome you and your family to the Meadow Brook family! We look forward to getting to know you and having your kindergarteners at Meadow Brook. We are excited to announce that a month ago the state gave us funds to start one session of full-day kindergarten for students in need. In order to better understand your placement needs for this upcoming school year, please schedule an assessment with a kindergarten teacher (Assessment Sign-Up here). After we complete the assessments, we will create kindergarten class assignments. We will do the best we can to accommodate the AM/PM needs of your family. Here is our timeline.

Donations
Donations are an important source of income for our school. With this money we are able to take student's on field trips, purchase classroom supplies, and do fun classroom activities. You can pay a donation by logging into your account on iCampus and selecting "More" on the right hand side. From there you will see a "Fee" section where you can make a donation.
Breakfast & Lunch
The National School Lunch Program waiver that provided free meals to students has expired. This means that school meals will no longer be automatically free. You will need to submit a Meal Benefits Application in order to qualify for free or reduced-price meals for the 2022-23 school year. Qualification is based on factors including household size, income, participation in assistance programs such as SNAP, FDPIR, and TANF, as well as living situations such as homelessness and migrancy.
Online applications will become available after July 12th. You may access an application by going to your Infinite Campus Menu, then scrolling down to More and clicking on Meal Benefits. Any application signed before July 12th does not pertain to the 2022-23 school year. As a reminder, households must apply every year to confirm eligibility for free or reduced-price meals.
If you do not qualify for free or reduced-priced meals, school meals are available at the paid rate of breakfast- $1.50 and lunch- $2.00.
