Student Support Services Update

Spring ISD is continuing to experience an enormous amount of success in the UIL One-Act Play "Play"offs! Spring High School and Westfield High School competed at the bi-district round of competition on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Willis High School and both campuses advanced to the regional semifinals on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Magnolia High School. Spring ISD participated in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art contest, regional judging round, at NRG Center on Friday, January 13, 2023. We are pleased to report that Spring ISD received eight awards, including three best of the show, four gold medals, and one special merit (silver medal). These eight scholars advanced to the final round of judging which will take place in late February. The winners at the final round are selected to go to the rodeo art auction and up to $250,000 of scholarship money is awarded to auction winners.

Thursday 3/23 – Leonard George Stadium

The Spring Lady Lions lost their 1st Round playoff game against The Woodlands on Thursday 3/23 at Leonard George Stadium. The Lady Lions finished the season 7-7 in District and 10-12 on the year.

Friday 3/24 – Planet Ford Stadium

The Westfield Lady Mustangs lost their Bi-District battle to Grand Oaks on Friday 3/24 at Planet Ford Stadium. The Lady Mustangs were the 3rd place team in the District competition and were Champions of the CE King Tournament held earlier in the season.

Friday 3/24 – Woodforest Bank Stadium

The Westfield Boys lost in the Bi-District competition to The Woodlands HS on Friday 3/24 @ Wood Forest Bank Stadium. The Mustangs finished the season 10-3-1 and 15- 5 -1 overall.

The Under Armour High School Football Combine was once again held at Planet Ford Stadium for the second year in a row. This is about the combined ranks and also highlights the overall top football prospects in the nation. Players from All 3 High Schools in Spring ISD were a part of the overall evaluation/testing process.

The event was held over a 2-day period on Saturday and Sunday, March 25th and 26th.

The 14-6A District Golf Tournament will be held on Monday and Tuesday, March 27th and 28th at Cypresswood Golf Course. The top winners that place will advance to the Regional Tournament held in Waco.

The 14-6A District Tennis Tournament will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, March 28th – 30th at Davis High School. The top winners that place will also advance to the Regional Tournament held in Waco.

The Spring ISD Middle School District Track Meet will be held on Monday and Tuesday, March 27th and 28th at Dekaney High School. All 7 Middle Schools will be represented.

Funtastic Friday for March 31: Return of Astros Baseball

It’s the return of Astros Baseball, and we’re marking the 2023 Opening Day with a #FuntasticFriday! Although the official opening day is March 30, we’re making the day after, Friday, March 31, a day to sport your best Astros gear and cheer them on! Root, root, root for the home team as they take on the White Sox for Game 2!

School Transfer Applications Now Open

If your student is seeking to attend a school in 2023-24 for which they are not zoned, the window to submit a transfer application opened Monday, February 27. More information can be found at www.springisd.org/transfers.
