Greetings Wildcat Family,

Parents this is the final week to change your scholar’s learning environment from virtual to F2F or F2F to virtual for the final 9 weeks of this school year. The survey below is only for parents to request a CHANGE in their current scholar’s learning environment. If your scholar is already virtual and you want your scholar to continue virtual for the remainder of the year, then there is no need to complete the survey. The same holds true if your scholar is already F2F and you want to keep them in the F2F environment. The survey will close on Friday, March 12th at 6:00 pm.

If you have requested to change your scholar's learning environment, it will go into effect on Tuesday, March 16th (Monday, March 15th is a Teacher Workday). This will allow the school to adjust the master schedule to accommodate the new learning environment. Please keep in mind that when changing your scholar's learning environment, you are committing to keeping your scholar in that environment for the remainder of the school year. Also, to maintain the safety protocols within the school, students' schedules may be impacted as a result of a change to their learning environment.

RMS Parents,

The district has begun the process for upgrading all Microsoft Surface Pro 3 devices. Beginning Monday, March 8, 2021, through Saturday, March 13, 2021, we will be deploying upgraded devices to those virtual scholars who have a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (see image below). To upgrade your scholar’s Surface Pro 3, the scholar must bring their device and charger to the school to exchange. The upgrade process will be by appointment only using the following link: Device Upgrade Sign-up Form.

In celebrating our scholars here at RMS for their acceptance into the Magnet Schools here in Fulton County, The RMS Administration and Staff would like to show our appreciation by providing each scholar with a Yard Sign with the magnet school and their picture. Please email your scholar's name, picture (optional), and "accepted school" to our 8th-grade counselor, Ms. Milligan, at milligan@fultonschools.org. The deadline to submit your scholar's name, picture (optional), and magnet school is Monday, March 15th.

Should you want to purchase additional yard signs, the cost will be $15.00 each. You may make your purchase at the Renaissance Middle School's website through our online school payment (OSP) system. The deadline to purchase additional yard signs is Wednesday, March 31st.

Our AVID Recruitment is underway! The application is currently available on our AVID website. All applications will be accepted NOW - March 12th, 2021. Virtual interviews will be held March 22nd - 26th, 2021. Times and dates for interviews will be emailed to the applicant. We are in need of YOUR assistance! Why Should You Declare Candidacy to become a member of the RMS SGC?

• The opportunity to implement and monitor the RMS Strategic plan
• The SGC is a decision-making body and being at the table is a chance for you to use your voice
• Being a member of the SGC is a great opportunity for Teacher Leaders to practice leadership
• Parents will receive first-hand knowledge about school initiatives and have a say in what those are
• Great resume' item for both Teachers and Parents because it is a leadership opportunity

Wildcat family, we are excited to announce that over the summer, our media center will be redesigned and reimaged to support actively engagement in the learning process as well as supporting collaborative common areas to increase student productivity. With the upcoming renovations, we ask that students return all media center books to the media center by February 26th. Reading will not stop for our Wildcats! Book checkouts will continue through SORA (Student Online Reading App), which can be found in Class Link. As we return to face-to-face instruction, it is important that we ensure the safety of all students, staff, and visitors in Fulton County Schools. The Fulton County Board of Health and Fulton County Schools have developed an online portal for FCS parents/guardians to report student COVID-19 related cases.

At this time we are asking that parents/guardians of FCS students submit a COVID-19 Report ONLY if your student fits into one or more of the following categories:

a) Has tested Positive for COVID-19 in the past 15 days

b) Currently waiting for the results of a test for COVID-19

c) Has been in close contact (within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes) in the past 15 days with someone diagnosed with COVID-19

If your student fits into one or more of the above categories, please begin the form by clicking the link below. Your report will be sent directly to the Fulton County Board of Health.

If your student does not fit into any of the above categories, a COVID-19 report is not required at this time. Please monitor your child's symptoms and follow-up with your healthcare provider or contact the school clinic, if you have any concerns.

Please DO NOT send your child to school if he or she fits into any of the above categories or is otherwise ill or unwell If your student meets any of the above criteria or is ill or unwell, DO NOT send your student to school until you have spoken with your healthcare provider, one of the FCS Student Health Services School Nurses, or a public health official.
